| Getting close First Test Run
Well i took it out for a test run and found some problems i need to fix. The first onn being the steering arm from the servo is not doing a good job of turning , i think i need to make one that has a z bend in it. next problem was when it gets bound up it stripped out the spur gear in the tranny. Those are fixed for now and i am trying it out with 2 shocks at each end, even though it takes away from lots of flex. I may go back to the single spring in the rear . That worked really well and the spring width did maintain staibility, much better that you would think. I'm not sure how putting shocks with out springs can benifit the set up. take a look and tell me what you think. All input is helpful

I think it needs to be lowered. Idealy you would like yoursuspension links parallel to the ground. This hels to reduce axle steer and inprove suspension response. Center clearance of around 4.5 -5.5 inches seems to be what most people are running. Just my 2 cents.

Try moving your shocks inboard towards the tranny. You'll lower it, and lengthen it at the same time, and you will gain some articulation back.

just basically what everyone else said. it needs to be lowered and lengthened for stability. moving the top of the shocks in ward to the center will solve bothe these problems and give you alot more articulation.

The wheel base is 16" and i tried the shocks layed forward but i think i'm getting some bind out of the four link. What wheelbase do i need to shoot for? how do i stop the binding if the link arms.

I "call" on the wheel base. NO way that thing has a 16 inch wb. It looks like 14 or 15 inches to me. Measure again! seriously.....maybe your ruler is wrong!!! With Kongs...you'll want 17 inches minumum! |

Haha Badger we must have been eyeballing and posting at the exact same time.....crying "bullshiat"!!!!!! If you take that ruler in the picture and visually put it horizontally, the wheel base looks like it would land in the 12 inch range. Hell.....my pecker is almost that long!!!!! |

My next question is how the heck did you strip out the spur gear!? You better check your gear mesh befor you run it again.
