Default First Major outing for PebblePounder

Well I finally got all of the bugs worked out and took it out on the first major outing at my kids school. (Lots of rocks around the school). Can't believe how much fun this is and brings me back wheeling with my XJ at Moab. It was the first outing with the GD600 (129:1), LSTs, RCAlloys bead lcoks, extended wheel base and 5995 TG servos. What a great combination it all works very, very well. My servo mounts are not the greatest as they stilck the servos out a wee bit far, but I'll live with it until it becomes a problem. Need to get some of those mounts like badger and a few of the others (just not sure where to source them). To anyone thinking of getting the 5995TGs, they are totally worth it, awesome power just wish I had a digital servo programmer to stop them where I want vs. over straining the axles. I'll get some pics up at some point but I want to get CJ body done first, right now I just have the stock body.

And you all need one of these.....

Makes hauling the truck really nice and there is more than enough room for tools, spare parts, battery, radio in the bag.

So to all of you Colorado folks in the Denver area I work in the tech center and live in Highlands Ranch so let's go crawlin!

That sounds like a nice TXT. I actually made my servo mounts as with the others here. I have a template for it but I think I loaned it out. I will see if I can make another if you want.

Thanks Badger, I would love the template if you have it around.

Don't put too much weight in it if you plan to use the shoulder strap. The tabs it attaches to pull on the material inside that seperates the center compartment from the ends and tears it. It needs some sort of reinforcement from one tab under the bottom to the other tab. Just FYI. The hand straps work fine, and it does hold alot.

My wife named it as she went through all the extras and build up of the real thing on my XJ. She was almost mocking me... Said it was cute
Not sure what I will actually call if anything at all.

cheapjeep,
I have an office in the DTC as well. We should go do some lunch time crawling soon. Jason and I actually crawled in the drainage area right there on Belleview and DTC Blvd. Let me know when you have time.

WannaBeDigler,

Cool! I work right at DTC BLVD and Park Terrace in the data center that has a big brown fence around it. I'm totally up for lunch hour crawling. I work 10-7. Let me know! You can get me on my private email or on AOL IM: cheapjeep2
