Just thought I would take a few minutes to introduce myself. new to the forum, been lurking for about a week. A couple of weeks ago, an RC store opened right around the corner from my house and its got me re-interested in the hobby after years of my cars/trucks just sitting around. Thought I'd pull some trucks out and run them, see if I'm still interested before throwing down the money on a new one. This is my modded Jugg 2 that has been broken for over 5 years that I plan on getting running again. Not clear on all the specs, but I'll see what I can remember:

Novak Super Rooster ESC
Speedy Gems Amber motors
Xtreme Racing chasis (I guess they are out of business, can't find anything online about them anymore)
Can't remember my servo, I'll look tonight
Various TXT parts and Maxx parts thrown in

What I'd like to do is replace all the bottom links. I've read up and I think I can do the 8/32 all thread and 1/4 tubing and get it myself. Thinking about ditching the cantilever system and just using shocks. Not sure if the ones I have are long enough, if I need to switch to some maxx shocks or if there is something better out there (remember I've been out of the hobby for over 5 years, trying to catch up). I'd also like to get a new body on it, just not sure what all is out there now and what I'd like to go with. So hopefully you like it and if I have any questions you can help me out and I'll try and contribute anything I can remember. "thumbsup"

Oh...and I'd like to get the body sitting lower as well once I figure out the links and what I'm doing with the suspension. :)

Welcome! "thumbsup" My TXT has been sitting awhile as well I made the initial modification 19 months ago.. and it has sat since.. for 2 reasons.. didn't have any extra $$ for parts and my daughter is now 18 months old!

I recently moved as well.. so once I get my shop / tools situated I am going to start modifying it again!

Well, I finally got the links built and got it up and running under its own power for the first time in over 5 years! Just a little shakedown around the house. Need some bugs to work out, but super excited. Lowered the body a bit, need to work on the suspension some. I'll try and get pics up on Monday."thumbsup"

Sorry for the delay, don't have a laptop that works at home right now (I use my Kindle Fire for internet purposes there). had to wait to come into work today so I could upload them.

Making the links wasn't as hard as I thought after finding all the info I needed on this site. Some 1/4" tubing, some 8/32 all thread and some Traxxas Revo Rod ends and a dremmel got it all done. Not bad for a first time, but I think I'm going to take them apart and add some tape on the all thread.

After taking the wheels off, I noticed that some of the plastic "lugs" had broken off. Old plastic gets brittle.

I had this happen before, so I knew what to do. Take a small drill bit and drill through it and mount it up with some screws.

Good enough for now, but I'd really like to get some new tires and rims. Just don't know what fits.

And Steve - it already is a slow goer, don't know how much slower it could go and not be in reverse. I forgot to mention that both diffs have been locked with JB weld. Might take the front one out as it doesn't turn worth a darn.

Cool! So what did you do to for gear reduction? I used a HPI wheelie king redux box. 7.6 to 1 or so reduction with only 1 motor. I can't think of the exact #'s right now

Honestly I have no idea. Like I said, this thing has been sitting around for 5 years and I no longer have the notes on what I have and have not done to it. At some point I orderd up a TXT parts and I think I upgraded the Jugg 2 axles. I seem to remember taking apart the transmission at one point and doing something to it, but I know longer have a clue what.

I played around with the shocks a bit Saturday and moved holes on the cantileavers, but made it too soft, now its got a torsion twist/lean when I hit the gas. Gonna have to play around with it some more to get it dialed in, but its fun tinkering with it again.

Any ideas for rims and tires?

It must be in the air. I álso took my TXT-1 from the attic after, i dunno, 8 years? Slapped in sensored 1/8 6.5t 570 just to see "what happened"

Well, suffice to say, the diffs shattered. Must be the 4s pack:lmao: went like stink on ahot day before thediffs gave up with that familiar "trrrrcrack, trrrcrack"

Good to see an oldie jugg/txt brought back to life.

Just a tip: a single 540-size brushless in the 10.5 to 8.5 runs fine, even with a 17t pinion.
Times have surely changed since The Rooster and two 19t doubles were "the thing" for Juggs and TXT's.

And, thanks to the Agrios TXT-2 we've got parts in abundance. A broken gearbox top-link had kept mine in the attic. But now? €20.- later, and i got a full axle and diff again.

Oh, by the by. If not crawling, get rid of the canti's. The speed it can attain with the current-gen motors and batteries will make a canti'd Jugg/TxT sway & wobble like a drunk tree-rat.
