Stock tranny is a good one for crawling and is used by many here on this site. and that crawler is a very good base to begin from. That was my first insperation, and my truck has evolved only a little from that platform.

My Son has a TXT 1. He did have the 55t motor and then he went to the 65t. The 55t gave a little more wheel speed but less torque than the 65t. From what I have seen the TXT 1 climb, I would say that either is ok. I suppose its what you feel happy with. Torque or speed.

Have you carried out the top ten tips to you TXT 1 ? They do make a big difference

Here is the link for you.

heres what you gotta do:

raise the tranny up
chop the chassis plates
stretch the wheelbase
lock the axles with JB Weld
get better rims/tires
bring the lower links to the top f the axle
i ran a gd600 gear reduction unit and 1 stock can and it worked great
2 high torque servos
behind the axle steering setup
revo shafts
