I have used the Epoxy puddy for my diffs and it is holding up great. I have had it in my truck about a year of so, of course I haven't been hard core crawling all of that time.

I've gone completely against the norm here. I have them mounted all the way at the ends of the chassis, and don't use a spring at all. I filled them with 80 wt. oil. It's all droop travel, as the shock is compressed at rest. It was an idea I wanted to try after a little thread on this page. Unfortunately, articulation is severly limited. But it's the best set-up I've had on my truck.

id like to see some pics of the shock setup if you would post some. As far as my diff goes Im talking about taking the diff apart, hope he didnt get any weld in the screwholes or anything. that would be bad. lol

Well then, here you go, fresh off the camera.

That's full articulation. I had a cross brace for the screws to go into, but I've stripped two at the right rear. And that's the reason I have a longer screw in that hole, I leave it a little loose. You can see the shock shafts bending on the left, and on the right you can see the top of the shock mount bending.

It's very easy to try it out, and if you don't like it, you can switch it back, I've modified nothing.

That is very interesting. It works good for crawling i suppose? When at rest your truck just sits all the way down? You ever have a problem with the truck not wanting to flex with this setup and how is the torque flex?

Yeah, it's somewhat interesting. It works "okay" for crawling, nothing spectacular, but definately not bad. Better than the floppy cantilever set-up in my opinion. It's very stable, within it's limits. But often it will be on three wheels because of the lack of articulation. So driving uh...carefully is my style. Yes, at rest, it's all the way down, which I like, as it has lowered the COG a lot. Within it's limits it's actually very capable. Torque flex is not a problem, especially because the shock is often compressed, and the other three droop if need be. If that makes sense. Sorry, it's a little late, and I'm wasted on paint fumes.

Long story short, it's the best set-up I've used. I haven't had the opportunity to try longer E/T-Maxx style shocks like the others do. But I like this set-up. Again, it's really easy to try, so give it a try. But, remember, articulation is about 45 degrees. With a good balanced truck, being on two diagonal, or three wheels isn't too much of problem.

Wow, I shoulda cracked a window!!!

After looking through all of this i never saw any infor about leaving ur driveshafts alone or if u need to change them or what,

so llet me know if u have to get some new screwie loie diveshafts or just lift tranny, move, links, chut chassy and put a skid plate on and ur done,

so do u have to do anything to the drive shafts?

You guys are crazy.....cuttin the chasis and all.
I would never do that! You are just ruinning a good truck.
And I don't see how cutting that part would help anything?!?!

Aren't you the one who "nipped & tucked" your nut sack for more center clearance?

Never nipped anything. I just used large zip ties that pierced my sack, then brought the zippies up to my ears. Works like a charm. And as a matter of fact....you can hang charms from them!!!!!! Nice!
