Default TXT-1: Buyer needs help ...

Hey There !

I have the chance of getting a TXT-1. It is build and never driven. It is complete. There is one servo, an ESC and 2 motors included.

So -
- How much should I pay for it ?
- Are the tires still any good after all the years ? (or do I have to replace 'em right away, which is a big price argument I think.)
- Maybe the tires have a flat point if it was not on a stand ?
- are the plastic parts still holding up ?
- are they rare and precious ?
- Anything else to consider ?

I have compared the Clod, Juggernaut, TXT-2. And somehow I think the TXT-1 is just the one to go. I like the longer wheelbase and shaft driven axles. Also the suspension. I am just worried to break the C Hub of the axles all the time. (as I did with my ClodBuster in my youth) But I think there is always a weak point somewhere.

Thanks for your help
--> Dave

Make sure its an original Tamiya txt 1 - I remember that there was a chinese clone which looked quite like the txt 1- I believe there was a comparison thread on one of the rc sites. Good luck - I had one from a long time ago - its an awesome looking truck!

thanks !

from the pictures - I must guess it is the original. (the battery and body holder are branded Tamiya and the f/r bumpers aluminum frames are raw and not black. Also the body is branded Tamiya.)

And I will ask the seller if it is the real deal. I mean it is easy to spot if it is a Tamiya having it in your hands once.

Anyway - I placed the winning bid (before I saw your post) and I am looking forward to get my hands on it !

The orange one in the middle is my TXT-2, it's slightly customized and has Clod wheels with RC4WD Rumble tires

I'll take a good stab at it....

Left to Right: | Super ClodBuster | Juggernaut 1 or 2 | TXT-2 | ClodBuster | TXT-1 |

Also if you need some OEM parts, I have a bunch as I have converted my TXT-1 to a Rock-crawler, so I have Aluminum bumpers, Aluminum Cantilevers etc
