Axle Servo Mount for Txt

anyone have a template for mounting the servo on top of the axle? or are there anybody selling any?

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

you can easily make one out of a thin piece of metal, i just made one this morning out of steel. i just hand drew the template, then cut it with a cut off wheel. i have yet to try it to see if all the angles are right, but it looks like it should work fine. ill go take some pics of it then put them on later, that is if i ever figure out how to post pics......

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

I was finally able to mount my servo behind the axle, (right behind the diff, and directly on the side of the driveshaft), it is completly out of the way and works fine with the HS-645.
No I dont have pics but when I get a hold of my buddies camera I will. This was just to let you know that it is possible to mount the servo behind the axle, out of the way, and have all of the links on top of the axle.

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

This is the way I did it...I've got some clerance issues, mainly, the servo hitting one of the upper links and the steering hitting the lower link at full steering and full artic...

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

hey badger, how did u get the linkages to not bind? i made my own servo mount pretty much the same as that, and it made the links bind up. so i had to make my servo pointing downward, but oh well, it works very well that way...

DirkDigler 05-24-2004 02:46 PM

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

Was the drag link set too high?

With my set up, there is absolutely no binding at all.

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

the drag link may have been set to high, but the way i have it set up now is PERFECT!!!!! i will post some pics of it later. my txt-1 is turning into one beastly crawler!!!

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt

Generally, on a TXT, the axles are too narrow to allow the drag link to be mounted with the servo horn point up. It needs to be down for proper angles. I usually doesn't get in the way.

Re: Axle Servo Mount for Txt
