Default Axial vanguard system in txt2

Will an axial vanguard brushless system be ok to use in a txt-2?

Probably. I've used various motors in mine from the stock silver cans, to a pair of 35 turn to a single 35 turn to an old Holmes Revolver. All were "okay". I'd guess the Vanguard has considerable more power than any of those, and maybe more than all of them combined.

I already have the vanguard system but I'm not sure the top gears in the diff would last very long? Alternative motors would be 2 tamiya dirt tuned motors and brxl esc?

Not sure about the gears, but I never had problems with them even when using a GD600 gear reduction unit (thinking they could take the torque).

My first txt-1 used to run on 14.4v and eventually knife edged and stripped the 18t bevel gear in the top of the diff, I'll run the vanguard system to begin with and see what happens.

Oh yes!!!

I currently use a monstrous 760 long-can 3200kv 1/8 motor @ 3s with a 19t pinion ( barely fits) and the TXT takes it all in stride. Tamiya gears are really, réally strong.

The bloody thing flíes with that combi. Though -truth be told- gnarly crashes at the speed it reaches will result in ripped-out ball ends and such. I also stripped the innards of the diffs. If You’re crawling with it, it would be advisable to use a spool in the rear axle.
