Default Swaybars, I'm guessing they're not so good for crawling?

Hello all! I'm new to the forum and rock crawling in general (though I've been running RC stuff since I was a kid).

I just purchased a TXT-1 and am assembling it now. Swaybars, yay or nay? I'm guessing they limit travel. I only intend on rock crawling this thing, so I don't care about it's street manners.

Whoa! This question caused some pretty heated discussions last time.

I say no sway bars.....unless.....they are designed very, very well.

This topic has been covered VERY thoroughly... search and you will be rewarded ;)
that said...
I Agree. They can have their place to induce certain characteristics in a suspension... but for the most part they are unwanted. Genererallly a well made suspension will not have need for them.

Yeah, I figured it had been discussed. I browsed through and didn't find much and did a search and only came up with a few topics that didn't help, but maybe I didn't set the search up properly.

Anyhow, thanks for the advice. It's what I expected, but I wanted to make sure.

Swaybar on the rear

Search and you'll find a nice heated thread I do believe. I've ran with and without swaybars.... I like both. It all depends on rig, type of terrian, and what you want to try. Some will say there no good... but most of those people haven't really experimented or even tried them. I say try them and see what type of combo you like, what works for your driving style and what works with your rig.

This one is where it started, poor zBigbadwolf got his thread totally hijacked:

The other was deleted I think. I see alot of 1:1 rigs with big bucks in them using swaybars and alot without. Right or wrong doesnt matter, building a suspension that werks good is all that matters.
