Default Repositioning the lower links?

Hey everyone, I noticed that you can reposition the lower links so that they are attached next to the lower cantilever mounts (in one of the four things that sticks out, the outer closest to the chassi)...hard to explain but I hope you get it

Is this a good idea? I've already noticed that you need to put some washers on the inner ball-joint otherwise the link will bind on the chassi...
The length of the stock link are enough when you remove the plastic washers, mabey a tad (3-4 mm to long)...

DC, I just made that change on my TXT. I haven't run it yet (going tomorrow), but so far everything looks good. I used MTPA steering servo mounts, and everything clears just fine. No binding at all. Vince

Did you lengthen your upper links? If so how much?

All you need to do is move the lower link to the mount directly across from the lower canti mount. If you want to know if it works...look in Get Togethers for May 2nd Boulder Area Crawlin, and look at the pics of my Rig. It works well.

No need to space anything. Remove the spacer from the Lower links ball mount, on the axle end, otherwise your pinion angle will be crap.

Did you try putting spacers at the inner mounting points of the lower links? I did (about 2 x 1 mm) and I found that it won't, based upon the amount of shock compression I got...

The spelling in this post may vary because I'm drunk ;) However, the opinions, don't

no you must lock the diffs, or at least first lock the fron diff and see how you like it.

i locked the diffs i think i done that properly, i also moved the links up, and it seems that now at full articulation tires seem to hit the chassis, is it ok?? And another question, do i need to cut the wheels ( will it help hiting the chassis) i thought that theyr so sweet ( the wheels) that maybe i can cut only the inner side, and left the outer as it is?? Thanks

If anything it will give better or the same artic...The limit I have are the the tires hits the chassi and that the shocks are bottoming out... (I also have that servo issue but that is just one wheel)...

Don't be scared to cut it off. I did and you know what I found? A hole! Not just any hole but a hole the same size as the other holes inthe part! It ends up looking like the lower one. Cut it off you will be fine
