Did I Blow It

I'm in the middle of re building the txt and i think i my have mounted the motor and tranny up to high in the chassis. i mounted it in the top hole of the frame and now it (tranny) sticks up above the chassis. I already secured the parts and was putting the links on when i notice the height problem. did i blow it or it still work out alright

you blew it, the tranny should be down low in the frame, very low, the lower the better

Pinkfloydman, have you built a TXT? From that answer I'd have to say NO.

Typically you would want the tranny as low as possible, but in a TXT you need to cut as much as you can off of the bottom of the tranny (the mounting ears) and mount if up higher then you would normally so you can then cut the chassis for optimal center clearance.

Here's a bunch of pics of me modifiying my TXT

So in other words NO YOU DID NOT SCREW UP.

I've seen transmissions raised, lowered, flipped and clocked. If you build your truck different it doesn't mean it's wrong or will never work. Most people raise the trans, cut ~1" off of the lower chassis and fab a skidplate. That the most popular way to build a TXT but not the only way. ;)
