Default Meet Big Blue.....my new TXT crawler

Here are some images of my new TXT based crawler. Thansk to Bender, his rig was the inspiration to build my own.

Chassis is/was a TXT but has been shortened and cut for clearance and the
Tranny has been raised in chassis
GD600
Savage shocks
Hitec 645MGs
Narrowed Proline Outback rims with Moabs or narrowed stock wheels with cut tread stock tires
Bronco body....at least at the start

I do have a question. It seems that once one of the tires starts to grip and climb the chassis just keeps trying to twist itself into a pretzel. I went to 80+ wt shock oil, any other suggestions? Do I need to change link locations or shock angle?

Hope you like it

Doug

Looks sick DougH, I like the shock towers. Nice use of stock parts on battery tray.

As stated could you re-size the pics down a bit?

You should be able to down size them on your computer to like 700 megapixels, I think that's the term. Then host the smaller pics.

So how do you like it so far? I like the way the body turned out.

I've only run a few packs in front of the house but feel like I have WAY too much twist. As soon as I start to climb an obstacle one tire grips, the other goes in the air with torque twist and it wants to go over on its back like a turtle. Changed shock oil to 100wt and it seemed to help a bit. Will try a minor relocation of links and see what happens. I actually shortend the rear of the body a bit more as I still had some rub issues at extreme flex. Sure love how it looks though.

Try a stiffer spring in the right rear, as you look at it from the back. I use Trinity's progressive spring set, they work great for me. Link location can play a big part in it too.

I've never benn a savage shock fan but I like it. I love the paint on the bronco body. Looks good. I also like the reuse of the chassis cut offs.

After looking at pics again, your link locations look pretty good. You could move them futher down, towards the bottom of the chassis. Also make the upper chassis link mount a little closer to the lower link mounting point. Try to get the links as flat as possible.

Another thing that would help is mounting the lower shock mounts further out on the axles.

It does look badass, with a few tweaks it'll work just as good.

That ting is awsome. Not a fan of baby blue, but it fits that body perfectly.

I loved the look of Benders rig so I copied his. Guess I owe him copyright fees

Color is actually much darker than the pictures, its Pactra Flourescent Blue. This is my favorite color, I usually paint with this ,white and flourescent orange. I like to be able to see my race cars.

I would think that moving the upper shock mounts to the outside might counteract the pretzeling.

First off great looking rig. Love the shock mounts. I see two things that could help to reduce your torque twist. 1) Bolt your lower shock to the outside of that mounting tab. Mine are one the outside of the lower link mount. 2) This one may require a bit more work, try to stand the shocks up more front to back. The inward tilt seems to be OK, as seen from the front.
