What's up dude. It's Lee. Don't mean to thread jack but I just joined the forum last night and wanted to show you what they did to the Pioneer Park structure.

It's demolished! Oh well. I've been finding some other crazy spots to crawl though so let me know the next time you're in Novato. My rig is down since I snapped the frame on Monday so I'm fabbing one up out of aluminum. If you're free any time soon and want to help me out a bit it would be much appreciated. This is as far as I've gotten.

15" outside tire to outside tire (due to double narrowed the bead locks)

Very nice build
those drive shafts are relly nice looking

what is the servo on the back axle for dig setup?

What motor are you going with

just bought a BM16, we'll see

I recomend a 5995 for rear steer and a 5955 for the front, used most has heat sink

I use to have the sliding bevel gear dig set up and a micro servo but the brake was rough on the gear and didn't work all the time

Now I have two 5955's and might reinstall the dig if i ever get a DX6

some updates:

I removed the RX pack and installed a MPI reg set to 7v.

I also installed a GD600 with a 5mm, 15t, 32p pinion and the 3014 crawlmaster.

I got an ICE charger and soldered up an 8th 3600 mAh battery on the JP knuckles.

The torque is OK and wheel speed is good so I guess I've optimized the gear ratio for this setup. I still think the motor is a bit under-powered for a 9lb rig w/XL Moabs, but to save axles and transmissions it's a decent pay-off.

Edit: oh ya, i forgot to say I just got some Kreepy Krawly red foams the I will install tonight. Can't wait to see how these perform! I also need to get a skid going for the GD600 and CM, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Mad4rnr ,

Only 20 minutes of runtime ? what happend , what cells are those again I get over an hr with 6 cell 4000 integy 55, 2 5995.

" ICE charger " ?

How's your R2 holding up

I have to say your build is the BEST, most detailed thread as for material specs and details, Great Camera, those are nice pics !

What shocks are those? titanium nitride

ok maybe 30 min if i don't drive it too hard, i drive in 4ws mode all the time so the two servos draw more current and decrease the run time

i got a duratrax ice charger, it charges up like 14 cells including lipo, and has 10 batt memory, too bad it's only DC

funny you ask about the R2...............I stripped all the gears about five min into the first run with the kreepy krawer red foams, they hook up!

I hate to say this in a TXT forum but unless i can find a small, ultra-srong, low geared transmission, i'm going clod nah id never do that, i got a design started just need some motivation

The shocks are just traxxas big bore, i have titanium shafts on the work bench but havne intalled them yet

You could always run porta axles. That would drop the ratio to 1.5 to 1. Then gear up to compensate. That would reduce stress on the transmission as well as the axle gears. Of course, that is an expensive proposition and may eliminate your cell mounting points.

This build almost makes me want to mod my mint juggy - almost. I think i'll by a junker first and build up that. Nice work on your truck though.

So after 3 mo's sitting w/o a trans this baby will finally be back in action soon!

I just traded some 2.2 axial beadlocks for a EMAXX trans.

Mods in the works:
-EMAXX with single 60t (brushless sucks!)
-BTA streering
-Ti-Ni shock shafts
-Castle creations BEC (MPI one was overheating)
-New lower linkmounts

More pics coming soon.

I know I should search this but I'm lazy today, what are the stock EMAXX trans ratios? Anybody have a sugestion for what pinion I should run?

Cool rig, I know you said brushless sucks, but throw a quark 33 in front of that crawlmaster and you will be plesantly surprized. Way different. No comparison.

OK let me restate my position on brushless: "sensorless brushless sucks", the goat is cool but heavy, the best combo ever is the crawling chichen with the V11 55t, enough said

the 3014 just didn't cut it with the moab XL's and double narrowed wheels

ya the COG is way too high with the emaxx trans and the GD600, I was thinking about going divorced
