| TXT super tuber =
Alright here is the third rig I've ever built. I started the RC crawler thing 8mo's ago with a 1/18 Nylint, then a TLT, and now this. I started this project two weeks ago when I first found out about the '07 Axial comp in Tahoe and heard the 2.2 class was full. So either I have big cahones or I'm profoundly dumb to go up against stick based clods in a TXT tuber, either way I had a blast building and running it (sort of). Specs: -Chassis: 3/16" x 0.028" wall 303 Stainless tubing, brased w/silver solder, white flux and propane torch -TXT axles; JB'd diffs, bearings, RC4WD widners/adaptors, JP Customs batt knuckles -R2 tranny w/Crawl Master 3014 -Mamba Max and Futaba 3PM w/HiTech 645MG -Front Dig / break with a Hitech 81MG -40/LT Moabs on double narrowed Axial bead locks, cut foams -Punisher drive shafts -1/4" x 0.070" wall 6061 Al tubing w/Large Revo Rod ends for links and steering rods (17" wheel base) -0.040" Lexan for skins -Knuckle packs: 7x 3600Mah sub-C's -1/4" Delrin skid I should have done rear-steer I've got more pics coming |

Good look'n rig. Got a question for you on them punisher shafts, are the ones you're using the long wheelbase ones? and do you think or know if those would be the lengths needed if doing a truck with or around a 14" wheelbase?

Very nice rig, especially for only your third build. I was wondering how well the crawlmaster works in a super? I am seriously thinking of putting one in my txt.

How are those drive shafts working out for you? They look sick on there. I am considering putting some on my WK.

RC4WD does make a shorter version with the 6mm yokes, I believe they are 4.72"-6.29" long, they should fit perfect

I think to run that motor with TXT axles you would need two motors, two trannies and two speed controllers. I'm going to try a Hyperion 3025 first and see how that works before I invest in another motor, tranny and ESC.

Ya, super sweet design on those knuckles man, quality finish too (I just wish they came in black anodise). Those widners are from RC4WD (12mm-17mm), they fit perfect with the sub-c's and there is just enough room to fit the batteries and bars inbetween them and the wheel.

Thanks for reply. I was hoping for better news regarding the crawlmaster, but it is what it is. What pinion are you running? I have a R2 with an 8 t pinion in my super class txt, but i only run maxx badlands, way shorter than the moab xls. On 7 cells, and a 60t handwound, it is OK but could have more tourqe and wheelspeed. Are you thinking of running more cells or just trying another motor?

I guess you arent running a reciever pack? I have to run one since i am running dual digital servos that eat battery power. You could even try a voltage regulator and add a couple cells for more wheelspeed.

No reciever pack as of yet. I was hoping to avoid it by only running the 645 and 81MG servo's. I tried unplugging both servos and still had the same motor stall issues so I don;t think the servo are drwing enough current to kill the motor.

| Honetsly the 645 barely makes the grade with the Moab 40/XLs especaily with the double narrowed wheels and the cut foams. I was thinking about getting a couple of those 1/4 scale Hitec metal gear servos that all the clod guys are using, not sure yet since they are so huge. Any suggestions?

Don't need 1/4 scale....just a 5995 or 5955 they are plenty. In the last comp I broke a Alloy servo horn.

I run 5955's and they have lots of power, but are very spendy and require at least 6 volts to get enough power out of them for large tires like moab xl's.

so whats the difference between the 5995 and the 5955 anyway? I see that with the 5955 you can use the servo tester to program the end of travel limits but my radio can control that too:-?
