When I mock up a mount there, the servo hits the frame.
I guess I could hack off that lower "frame rail"...
I lost 1/8" of travel on that side. I have so much travel that loosing 1/8" is probably not going to hurt that much. I grinded down the two ridges that are on top of the axel housing to keep the servo as low as possible.

The bottom of the servo tape on it and is also wedged in between the servo mount and the knuckle ridges which were trimmed.

hey Badger, Looks like it'll work good. You say the other way the servo got hit a lot huh? I haven't hit mine yet at all. MMMM?

I can't wait till tomorow. I need to finish one more tire and I should have your Beadlocks done. Unless something comes up.

Yeah, the rocks would hit the servo and the horn alot. I would have to be real carefull.
If you notice it the last pictures I also lowered my battery. I don't know where the creativity came from this week to give me these idea's but I like it. I wanted to make it better for our crawl tomorrow, looking forward to it. I just with my gear reduction came in.

How much $ do you want me to bring down for the beads? Or if you want I could make you a couple servo mounts in trade.

Ya I'll take some servo mounts. Mine seem to be fine but it's always nice to have some options. Besides, I did most of the work on the clock at work, so thank Specialized. See ya tomorrow!.

OK, so I made this new servo mount right before I went down to crawl with rckjeep. 1 run that day and I stripped the gears on my 945MG.

Last night I was prepping for the comp this Saturday so I took off the stripped 945MG and mounted my other 945MG from the rear onto the front. And mounted a Digital 625MG on the rear.

Got everything back together and went outside to make sure the txt tracks straight and the steering is adjusted properly. And sure enough the 945MG in the front STARTED STRIPPING. It stripped going in the same direction as the other one. When the servo horn moves left (in the view of the picture) towards the right wheel it strips.

This servo has lasted months (since I got the TXT) in the rear and the other 945MG lasted the same amount of time in the front with my old mounts that Dirk made for me.

So my question is... is this servo mount a horrible design some how? I know that it does not move AT ALL when you try to move the servo, so there is absolutly no play in it at all.

2 runs 2 stripped MG servos! The gears are not cheap either, $25 for a set! I really like were the servo is mounted because it is so out of harms way.

Here is the mount incase you do not know what I am talking about.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

I can't imagine that there's too much leverage on it. I mean the drag link is long but it's not at a bad angle. I'm confused myself. What's the length of the servo horn? from center of mounting hole to center of mounting hole.

oh and NICE avatar!

My thought is this....did you have it mounted before with the arm off the side of the servo like most are done? If so, with the arm going lengthwise with the servo, maybe the gear train torques just enough a different way that the gear mesh frees up enough for the gears to strip.
