Default lwarc's budget fj instascaler($200)

I have been thinking about building a 1.9 scaler for some time now. The first thing I bought was the Newbright fj at target.com on sale for $42($50 after shipping). I liked the way the body looked and I knew that the body fits onto a cc01 chassis without much in the way of modifications.
Then I found a NIB Pajero that had been purchased but not build. The box was opened but every thing was still on the trees so I picked that up for $135. The pictures tell the rest of the story...

Here is the stuff I used - the New Bright FJ from Target.com and the Tamiya Pajero Metal Top kit.

I cut the four mount points on the inside of the body down by 1 inch. I also trimmed back the yellow plastic just inside of the front bumper so that it would slide down over the original mount. The dremmel tool came in very handy for this part.

This is what it looks like with the body on. Future modifications will include working head and tail lights, black slotted hpi wheels with some rc4wd tires(not sure which ones yet) a better roof rack and a spare tire on the back and roof. So far this has been a very fun(and easy) project.

Plenty of room for a spare tire...

A great simple build. I would love to run up on a jero for $135. That is hard to beat. That is a nice clean looking rig you got there.

I"m dying to get a jero. I almost have the wife talked into it because of the talk of it being discontinued.

I used two of the light assemblies from the light bar along the roof. I had to dremmel out the existing head lights and drill the light buckets so the LED's would slide in. To secure the lights I used a hot glue gun - the Yeahracing lights are nice and then hook up to your receiver so you don't need a separate switch or battery.

Lights look great! Get that stock Pajero bumper off of there. It will look and perform much better.
