Cool Minijosh's XC

Yeah it's an oldie original XC and it's been in England, Turkey, Qatar, Nevada, Arizona, Germany and a few other places the wife don't know about. I just did the rc channel upgrade on the front suspension and the rear axle. It was running fine for the short 2 minutes until my home made steering mod crapped out. Enjoy the pics if you can.
Mods are as follows

F350 wheels
ball bearing steering
RC Channel full XC upgrade
Old esc with a Venom 50 turn motor

Next on the chopping block is cleaning up the front end, new shocks all the way around for more articulation, new paint job on the Jero and maybe clear windows.

that is really cool. Love the internal cage. RC kit looks top notch.

Even with the RC kit you can do the steering mod like I did. You'd be cutting everything off the front right at the front edge of the steel skid plate.

Looks like you could use some BFGThrashers too, lol...

Has anyone ever run a real crawler motor from Holmes Hobby? I have a crawlmaster in my comp rig and was wondering if it would fit and work well in the xc. Anyone test it out yet? I'm about to test fit mine right now. Pic's will follow.

I posted in here just to get my rig back on top hehe.

So far I've added front lights and fog lights. I'm kind of scared to drill holes for tail lights. If someone made a kit for real looking brake lights and all I'd buy one but man it would be expensive.

Just did a test fit and it fit welll until I tried to turn the motor. I'm having to sand down some insides because the outdrive is a little bit wider than a 540 can. Plus it moves around verses the normal motor.

I'm having an issue with my left front dogbone not staying in. Anyone have any good ideas or tricks?

Put an o ring at the chassis end.

Or better yet buy some steel universal joints / CVD's

No can do cvd's I have the rc channel kit but I'll try the ring thing, in fact that's what I did last night. My brain is slowly starting to work again for rc's.

You should have added a gear reduction like the gd-600 that way your motor would fit and have more low end resolution, here's a pic of mine.Click the image to open in full size.

I really want to know how that brushless outrunner works in the cc-01 as compared to a brushed 55T.

Are you talking about mine or Josh's? , mine works really well because of the gear reduction of 2.5:1 , not sure about how his work without the redcution.

One good thing I've found out is I have some good wheel speed, I think I might swap this out into my CR01 because the 55 turn in that isn't too powerful for the weight of the truck. This might be a bit too much for my xc, I'll tell you when or if I kill my gears. My rearend won't be damaged since it's all metal.

I am running a Novak goat 3s bl on my CR-01 and that has worked great for me in there, as for wheelspeed on my cc-01 i have to go to 3s to get some, so that might be a drawback on my setup

What kv are you guys running? I'm more curious about the non gear reduction one as I will not be doing a gear reduction on mine. And are you guys running 3s or 2s?
