Toyofast's CC-01 'Jero that goes!

Picked this up from a fellow ORCRC member a while ago and since then I have not stopped playing with this little rig. I'm not sure why I'm so attached to to but I can't leave it alone.... makes me smile every time I see it.:)

Run down:
-ball bearings
-Spektrum high torque servo
-Tekin 45-turn motor
-RC4WD gear reduction
-old school Super Rooster ESC
-Pro-Line Flatirons on stock Pajero wheels
-3mm "lift" plus preloaded shocks
-Losi shocks in the rear
-Lower rear links mounted high and out of the way on the chassis
-Body is trimmed to fit tires
-Built adjustable upper camber links, has made a difference!
-PNW waterproofed.

Maybe more but minor stuff.

Some pictures!

Spare is a narrowed stock TLT tire and wheel. It's light, narrow and functional!

Oh SNAP!! Look at that flex up the stacked tires!

Here you can see the wider Traxxas hexes that are used to widen the stance ever so slightly. Also if you look near the bottom of the skid plate, close to the lower a-arm you can see a copper spacer which gives me the 3mm "lift". Seems to keep the suspension moving more smoothly, only down fall is that it just mean that the front suspension is 3mm closer to the ground. Not a big deal since this thing seems to wheel pretty good.

Adjustable upper camber links. Every CC-01 owner should do this easy & cheap mod.

In the rear you see the Losi shocks and the rear upper links that are next on the chopping block.

Good looking truck. I just got a CC01 and I'll definately do those cheap/free mods. One question, are those TLT suspension stays you're using for lower link/shock mounts?

Yes. Although they look like they would get hung up a lot... I have yet to see it happen, or if it has, I haven't noticed it. One of these days I'll completely re-do the rear suspension but right now it's just too much damn fun to drive.

Actually, the distance from ground to center of axle doesnt change and the length of the shock doesnt change so the chassis DOES sit 3mm higher, not 3mm closer to the ground.
I have 2 cc-01's now. One has this chassis lift the other doesnt. I didnt think 3mm would make such a big difference but the one without the lift definitely gets hung up LOTS more.

Nice paj, btw.

Correct... Now, just finding a way to add longer lower a-arms and some CVD's to top it off.

Nice work Brett. I'm glad you finally took the time to stop driving it and take some more pictures. I look forward to seeing what you do with it!

I'm really set on getting something built for the front suspension, it has so much room for improvement. The rear is pretty decent once to replace all the plastic links with real links.

I just chopped it the other day and I'm now trying to convince myself I like it. I think I'll add that "fast back" look to it and cut out the back and stuff 2 spare tires standing vertical in the back... sort of Dakar Rally like.

EeePee 06-20-2009 10:01 AM

I don't like it.

I was drinking that Natty Ice crap, it made me do it.

wamf 06-22-2009 02:41 PM

I saw a Pajero just like that and ever since then I wanted one. Just found out the other day that yours was the one I saw (before it was yours)
Sure is a small world.
P.S. The chopped top looks ok.

See, he doesn't like it either.

ToTheMAXXcrawler 06-22-2009 09:05 PM

I personally like it. Its a different look. Throw those spare tires like you said you were thinking about and it would def. look good! Or put like a back half roll cage on it like the jeeps have.
