The MAN!

Here is the newest member of the family. CC01 sporting a Bruder MAN cab. She is getting the Military Cargo Trnasport treatment to go with our local clubs Military theme. She will have a canvas top on the bed like a covered wagon when she is done. Bed is 6" wide x 12" long with 1.5" sides. I made it hinged so I can access the battery plug. Did the usualy mods, Axial Links on just the lowers on this one, removed the brick wall part of the front of the chassis, front susp mod to more articulating and steering mod. These are not the wheels that will end up on it in the end, just for mockup.

It never ceases to amaze me what people come up with to do with these rigs. Thanks a lot now I want another CC-01.:-(

"thumbsup"Great looking start. Can't wait to see it finished.

Great use of the Bruder. Maybe some Hummer wheels or the Land Rover type? Watchin this for sure:shock:

blackfoot 06-18-2009 09:42 AM

Thanks guys. I have a little more detail work done to her, but nothing worth taking pics of yet.
I just got the Humvee wheels in from RPP today(damn good from Cali to NY in 2 days) and bought 5 different sets of RC4WD tires, so I will be deciding the best set for the truck. Im leaning to the Outcroppers or possibly Prowlers. These Losi claws hook up unbelievable on the 60 degree hill I have out back. All loose soft dirt that has been covered by composting leaves for years. It does the realistic hop, dig, move and hop, dig and move that the 1:1's do in the vids once they loose traction. Its a tank, nose heavy as hell but will climb about anything once it gets the overbite of a cab past it. I will admit, I did build that bed strong. That hill is everybit of 15 foot high and several times she rolled the entire way down and the bed has held together good.

that looks very cool. can't wait to see what you do to it!

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys. Its slowly getting there, added the tarp supports and some chains for the tailgate. I have 5 different sets of RC4WDs and 1 set of Trail Docs comin in the mail. So I have plenty to choose from for sneakers.

This is gonna be sweet when you get her done Scott!

When I build the canvas top for this, and throw in some more crates she is going to be super cool, You need to get those hummer wheels on and update the pics.

pantablo 06-19-2009 10:42 AM

I suggest bending those canvas bar supports out of brass tube or something metal to prevent them breaking if you roll it. not suggesting major tube work, just same as you have, glued to the sides or bolted to the bottom.

I do need to do something better for the supports. I need to get me a tubing bender. I kinked the only brass piece that I had even doing a gradual bend. I need a full 14" long piece for each support and the locak hobby shop only has them, in 12". Im also thining about using some metal coat hangers to run underneath of these and epoxied to the underside for support.

Yes Ed, I do need to get the Humvee wheels on, Im just waiting for my other sets of tires to come so I can decide on which set to use.

These are what I will have to choose from. Problem is the clearance issues.
1.9 Crazy Krawlers
1.9 Prowlers
1.9 Trail Docs
1.9 Outcroppers
1.9 Rock Stompers
1.9 Slingers
1.9 Losi Claws

What colors as far as paint? Lookin good!"thumbsup"

RockEd out 06-19-2009 01:06 PM

I think the Outcroppers or Prowlers would look the best. You sure dont have any lack of tire options though, lol.

If I can find a nice camo fabric, it will be camo, otherwise it will be OD Green.

blackfoot 06-24-2009 07:05 PM

Small update....

I remounted the cab, its raised and now hinged to tilt foward. I also got some Humvee wheels and Outcroppers, which IMO look perfect and military on this build.
