BGGruff's Pajero 9 Attachment(s) Well, I've had this Pajero sitting on my shelf half painted and half assembled since Christmas. I starting reading some of the builds in this section and got inspired. I haven't posted a build thread in a while mostly b/c I've had the same rigs for a long time and have only been modifying them a little here and there. I'll try and stay committed to this rig w/o going on to a different one. Here's some specs: Tamiya Pajero painted Metallic Green on Light Gunmetal Integy 65T Motor GPM Universals in Front Axle Bearings all around Traxxas 2075 H2OProof servo DX3R Tx/SR300 Rx Tekin B1R ESC Losi MRC Aluminum Shocks RC4WD 1.55 Rock Stompers RC4WD 1.55 Black Beadlocks Modified Rear Suspension w/ Axial Links Body Lift Roof Rack and Scale Goodies Hilux Snorkel ( Soon replaced with an actual RC4WD Pajero Snorkel) Coming Soon: GPM Steering Kit GPM Front Upper and Lower Suspension Arms GPM Knuckles GPM C Hubs GPM Center Gearbox Mount GPM Rear Suspension Links and Shock Mounts GPM Wheel Hexes TPTuning Aluminum Servo Mount I did the body lift by adding 8mm of Axial Aluminum spacers under the front body mount and I drilled two new holes for the rear for about 5mm of lift. The rear also got 4mm of lift under the shocks using the Tamiya copper bushing method. For the rear suspension I also took some 3/8" aluminum c channel and cut to length and notched out to fit snug under the axle and drilled some holes to mount the lower links and shocks. There's a couple of pics of the shocks and some body shots. More to come."thumbsup" |
looks good! |
Looks good with the lift. I might lift my pajero a couple mm's now. Are you going to cut back the front of the chassis to gain some approach? |
looking good! been thinkin about getn the gf one? but if did, it would probably look like the eco sami they did on xtreme 4x4. |

THe newer mods look good. I like the rear axle mods with the links and the C channel. That is the one thing it dont like about the CC01's is all the plastic in the suspension. I still aint sold on the Creepers. I guess we will just have to see them in action compared to the Thrashers or the Traildocs to decide."thumbsup" |
7 Attachment(s) Here's a little update. I finished the rear 4 link. Works good and the slop is gone. I was gonna try and do a double triangle set up but couldn't get everything to cooperate w/o making a hole new crossmember. Next I'm gonna add a little suspension lift to the front and trim all the fenders to make enough room so the tires don't rub at all. Here's some pics of the rear 4 link and some flex shots.:) |
Looking good Ronzo. Now if I can get mine together before the comp next weekend. Waiting on bearings...they kinda put a stop to everything. |

4 Attachment(s) Little update. I got some of the trim paint done and added the TLT bushing lift to the front. It lifted the front up enough to even out the truck."thumbsup" I can't stand a truck that is higher in the rear than the front. I also added a Hilux Snorkel (from RPP). It fits almost perfectly and I think it looks pretty good. I added a little paint to the inlet area for a little detail. I attached it by tapping 2 holes and screwing in 2 set screws and then drilled to holes in the body to put the screws thru and then put a couple lock nots on them to secure it. I can't stand messy glue. |
7 Attachment(s) Ok it's running now so I took it for a little test run on my backyard rock garden. I got all the fenders trimmed so the tires won't rub but not too much where it doesn't look stock. It does pretty well but I definitely have more work to do like locking the front end (I built it open), moding the front end for a better approach angle, installing all the bearings and installing my RC4WD 4:1 GRU to the Axial 55T motor. It needs more weight in the wheels and the battery I was testing with doesn't seem to have enough juice for it. Here's a few action shots.8) |
Jero looks really great. I'm diggin' all the work you've done. I highly recommend the 4:1 gear reduction for the CC-01. You should look into the TA02 knuckles and CVDs for the front to get some steering out of that thing. |

Well it's been a while but I'm getting back into this rig. I'm trying to get it ready for scale4x4 comp in September at Little Rock City, AL."thumbsup" 1st thread specs updated. Here's the GPM Universals I replaced the stock ones with."thumbsup" http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275357681 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275357713 Definite increase in steering. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275357743 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275357767 Shows how much I ground off of each knuckle to add steering throw. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275357963 I used a Robitronic long servo arm which also aids in throw. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358069 My new SR300 RX. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358210 My new Tekin B1R esc in a project box I picked up at Radio Shack. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358273 Here's everything wired up and operational. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358372 Powered by a Maxamps 2000mah 2s and a Integy 65T motor with a 20T pinion. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358437 Nice and snug. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275358566 |
Here's how it looks now. I'm seriously thinking about changing the color. I have some tan sitting around and the bottom may get flat black along with the hood. I may also mount up my G8 Flat Irons mounted on Black Proline beadlocks. The body will get some serious trimming for them. I'm probably going to give it some lights too.8) http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275359136 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275359157 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275359215 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275359239 |
This looks great! Where did you found that little receiver box? Looks like I still have alot to do on mine :p |

The receiver box is Traxxas and the box the esc is in is a project box from Radio Shack."thumbsup" |
Here it is with the G8 FLat Irons on Proline beadlocks. Also some new paint, Tamiya Light Sand on Flat Black with a flat black hood. Trimmed up the fenders and front bumper for tire clearance.:) http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275451851 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275451882 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275451905 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275451930 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275451953 http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1275452021 |
