**Updated Mu changes+**
 

Colour change to redrange orange dechromed the bumpers and painted them brushed aluminium, changed front shocks to 3racing 80mm and soft springs and the rears are Tamiya Dark impact rears. Moved the steering back into the chassis by about 10mm so that the body would line up better with the wheel wells. Also changed the 4 link setup as it was originally binding and not allowing full travel. Took it out yesterday for its maiden voyage and what a blast it was, my friend was with me and had his rangerover and the mu followed it everywhere. Just an awesom little rig that is going to bring hours of fun and smiles. The Brat tyres performed way better then expected. Anyways the pics

Nice! glad to see more people doing the servo mod. Your mounting is a great variation on the theme, so to speak. I couldnt do that as I didnt have the room up front.
One question though, looks like the tie rod is resting on the servo horn but the A-arms are not compressed at all. Under load does the tie rod hit the servo arm?

So where you get that idea to mount the servo in that position again?????

Yep that was my inspiration to change the steering, but it was VIPXJ's idea to front mount it...... at 1st I could'nt see his logic but after a while it dawned on me lol

Thanks Pablo means alot comming from the CC-01 master :mrgreen:. Due to the rarity of the CC-01 chassis here in NZ I did'nt want to cut into it too much and kill it so VIPXJ and I devised a plan to change it a little and im glad I did.
I thought the tierod was going to be the biggest problem of all and I was very careful when I 1st tested it and to my surprise it worked flawlessly..... when the Mu is on its wheels the tierod hangs down and has about 10mm of movement up and down which I thought would affect bumpsteer but there is nothing at all. Even with both shocks fully compressed it dosnt affect it have also tried the side to side with both wheels locked into turning positions and no ill effects at all.


Thanks bro, the skid was very simple really the front part of it is a integy alloy servo mount of a clod diff and the rest is just alloy plate, its amazing that what you think wont work works perfectly lol.


Thanks bro, I would'nt have done it had it not been for this site and the shared information I would have just suffered with the poor steering. I brought the Mu off our local auction site Trademe. This is the only one I have ever seen and at $80.00 buy now I grabbed it, and it even came with a bunch of spare parts too ! :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Can anyone tell me what shocks work best with the CC01 ? I have the standard ones on there but they dont seem to have any flex what so ever. I had to change the fronts because they just had far too much sag, the front would drop almost 10mm when placed on the ground and under power they would sag worse..... this was before and after I did the steering mod

I have 80mm Yeah Racing shocks front and rear with internal springs. I don't know if they are the best, but I'm happy with them. Pretty cheap too.

Kool thanks for that, I tried to do flex shoots but it would only lift about 20mm off the table before the rear wheels started lifting ! The original shocks are warn in as the Mu was 2nd hand when I brought it. I wanted to run external springs but may just try the internal method tonight to see what results I get, what weight oil are you running in them ?

Well after running this several times and putting it in places I never thought it would go I have to say that this is my Favourite rig ! It does everything from hillclimbs to rockcrawling and it looks so freakin kool doing it too.

One of the best purchases I have ever made and if another one ever comes up I will be snapping it up quickly.

The steering mod has been flawless and so have the $20 set of brat tyres
