I find it interesting that they used the smaller touring car boxes for this one. Check out the chassis pic, looks like the same trailing arm parts are used, with the addition of an adapter to mount them between the "long" and "short" wheelbase trailing arm mounts.. |

I like that tamiya keeps making the cc01, but I don't like the look of this one. Maybe bigger tires would make it look better.

I like the chassis but it's not realistic for some of the bodies. Richard

I hope that MIP will make us some CVDs for these again. I have the dogbones, I just need the outer shafts, and cannot find them. (part #1226) |

Agreed, if they are making a new product, it should be a new product...not something they whipped together with spare bodies and chassis' from out back. Since they stuck with the cc-01 and its ifs they should have made something a little more realistic, maybe something along the lines of an xterra (cough cough). Right crunky?

Im with crunky on this one, if they're going to make a new product, it should be a new product, not something using spare parts off the leftover shelf outback. Dont get me wrong, i love my cc-01 and im glad they're going to continue to make spare parts for it, but since they stuck with ifs they should have made an actual new product, maybe a scale xterra (cough cough).......right crunky?

I agree this model is lame IMO, i love all my XC & CC chassis but Tamiya needs to issue something really new, not just a body from a different kit on a different chassis. I bet a hard plastic FJ-40 would be nice, or a JK from Tamiya |

says the wheelbase is extended to 252mm for this kit on tamiyausa. So isn't that longer than the Paj, Jeep, etc? It would fit the lexan '73 Bronco body pretty well then too... which would be the next step, even though all you'd have to do is just purchase a bodyset to make a new look.

The best they could do is white F-350 wheels! Looks cheap to me. Should have kept the Jeep. IMO.

A friend of mine got one last weekend. Its your usual cc/xc except for a new parts tree for the wheelbase adaptors (if thats what you call it) body mounts and front bumpers (you get 2 of these bumpers by the way). Yup, the wheels are white versions of the F-350 ones. The ESC though is a TEU-104.
