On to the rear bumper.... Working with 22guage sheet metal i made some box tubeing. at this size its hella tuff and lighter than solid aluninum the tub extensions i tryed to make look like the rear frame rails. 4 3mm bolts hold it on the tub Lastly the rear hook, its welded to both inner and outer parts of the bumper for pure sled pullin beef |

More..... The steering servo is an old 7995, yep it steers. you can see one of the aluminum posts going down to the bottom of the chassis. This makes the servo rock solid. 333oz and no flex Pic shows where aluminum posts tie into the bottom of the tub I knew the front lower link mount was gonna be a problem on the rocks and shure enough after only one comp the screw heads were hammered. Ive seen plenty of builds with the linkes moved to the outer of the frame to fix this problem but i didnt like the loss of lower link trianglation so i did this. after some careful cutting with the dremel I can move the lowers to the other side of the mount An aluminum plate is notched into the frame section and beefs up the back of the pan and ties into the lower links |

The servo winch I used a jr8711 for a servo winch. I never really liked it for a steering servo since only after a few comps in my super it would chatter when the gears got a little loose, but as a servo winch is works dandy Some scale details Mirrors from imex.....I like em I couldnt find any light buckets that would fit and hold 2 led's so i made some |

Jim... Did you mention anything about how you have your motor connected to the transmission? I bet many would like to know about your pinion setup |

And here it is The adaptor plate i made to use an 11t breg pinnion and 70t on 3s. I tryed a lot of motor/esc combos on this rig and this setup is the best so far. it has kick ass wheel speed and useable crawl. I tryed a few GD setups but didnt like how it forced you to move the motor back and upset the balance of the crawler next was trying to fix the poping noise from the tranny under a bind. This part clamps down on the middle gear bearing shaft keeping it in place Here you can see the part installed, it also braces the steering post I was still haveing problems with the tranny and wasnt shure what gear was skipping so i held the car down on the carpet and pinned the trigger "Oh the horror" After another tear down found the bevel gear was the problem. The fix was easy I just shaved down the plastic end cap and shimmed the gear closer with 2 3mm washers. You can also see how close the motor is to the rear drive gear Washers go here All thats left to do is waterproff the electronics and add a few more scale details |
