I'm not sure how, but I managed to miss the pictures you posted on 3/7/2010 (even after you linked to this thread from the other thread where we were having the conversation about it). The motor mount is exactly was I was hoping to see, so thank you for the descriptive pictures. I did try messing around with a clod adjustable motor mount, but the slots in the mount are not oriented in the correct direction for this application and you can't get the motor close enough to the spur. So I'll be fabbin' my own miniwheeler mount, which is more satisfying anyway. Did you have to modify the chassis tub at all? In particular, the ridge between the motor and the small gear connected to the back part of the spur? I realize the motor/gear cover gets trimmed, but I am curious about the chassis itself.

I didnt have to trim off the plastic ridge but i did have to shave the curved part on the bottom of the tub to get the motor to clear

My brother and I are thinking about makeing to sundays scale comp for some montana testing. If we do i will be shure to let you check it out and try the motor setup to see if you like it

With the new rules for 2011 it kinda left my cco1 in between class 1 and 2. So i chose to make it a class 1 rig

I went back to the original pajero body. After cutting off the plastic bumpers it fit the old metal bumpers nice

To make the pajero body fit i had to chop the wheel base down to 9 3/4,

Also installed some RC4WD scale shocks and moved them back to the rear of the axle with some custom lower mounts

With the front and rear mounts for the body cut off I needed a way to mount the body to the tub so I came up with these tub extenders

Held on to the tub with 2 original holes and 1 in each inner fender

Traxxas battery post bolts hold the body to the tub rock solid

Some tire stuffage pics

Looking good! Was hoping you'd run it in class 2.

I was debating class 1 on mine but the portals made it just a hair too wide for the Unimog body.

With the tire size of class 2 i just felt it wouldnt be capable enough to do well but in class 1 Im gonna whoop some straight axle a$$ or so i hope

As far as yours why not a Hummer body wide portal IFS = perfict match

You have to competeagainst my 57 Chevy in class 1.... Unless I decide to build something else.

Meh not a fan of the H2's.

Couple motor Q's for you.

What 70t are you using?
I have an Integy 80t in mine, sucks on 3s with stock gearing. Integy 75t on it's way and will be running a 12t pinion.

Edit: I just saw in the pic what you are running.

Does it get hot?

How much wheel speed do you have?

Awesome rig, good to see it's still around! I actually like the Pajero body better, seems to fit the rig perfectly.

The motor warms up a bit but no worries. Wheel speed is like a properly geared crawler runnin a 45t on 3s and its lacking enough torque to keep broken parts down

Thanks, I'll see how the 75t with the 12t pinion does.

Ive had many motor combos with a GRU and an rc4wd reduction but i didnt like how the motor placement up set the chassis balance so i came up with a custom motor plate and a 12t berg pinion

You should sell that plate, I'd buy one seeing as I bent the output shaft on one of my GRU's at High Rocks

Thankfully I can raid my wifes rig for spare parts for now.
