Nice work ! Realy!
I suggest:

1) Cut off the "brick" on the front of chassis e.g. like I cut it
http://img5.rajce.idnes.cz/d0510/3/3...DSC09522_b.jpg

2) Make custom 4-link e.g. like I made it
http://img5.rajce.idnes.cz/d0508/3/3...s/DSC09252.JPG

3) Buy another wheels/tires (another then that stock pucks) e.g. RC4WD 1.55 Rock Crusher X/T

Best upgrades are...........bearings, GPM steering, rear 4-link, new motor (55T, personal preference), and new tires.

Nice looking build BTW.

thanks fixed!

btw how much would it cost me to make a 4 link?? and a wheel set upgrade??? i already have a gpm steering kit and i did put ball bearings on the kit already.

I was able to make a rear link basicly for free. I used the stock lower links for the axial ax-10, (upgraded to bent links on crawler) and drilled into the tub after measuring with the stock ones. You can pick up the links for a couple of bucks, or if you know someone with the ax-10, you could probably get them from them. Really easy. only took me a few min to do.

The only thing that took a lil time was customizing a new mount for the rear shocks.

Sid,

Great to see your Land Cruiser finally. Easiest upgrade after bearings and the gpm kit would be tires, as Fixed13 mentioned. There are soooo many options out there. First tires I got were losi mini rock claws, really cheap (on sale ) on ebay, perform really well but not so scale looking, tamiya rock cruisers are decent enough too. If you have the budget, RC4WD or Proline tires I believe, look great and perform great as well.

hey mix nice to hear from you again im looking at rc4wd site and yeah i think they've got great tires but i want to try the 1.55 tires and im wondering if it will look good on my kit.

mix237 03-23-2010 08:11 AM

1.55's to look good? Definitely. Really scale looking. If I had the budget, I'd get them.

I use Delrin rod and Traxxas ends with long set screws, not sure what the cost is, I guess I just ordered lots of rod and never thought about the each price. Probably $10-20 if you went and bought just what you needed. McMaster-Carr sells rod by the foot I think and most LHS's will have the rest that you would need.

I have RC4WD wheels and tires on mine (1.55's). The wheels were $39.99 for 4 and the tires were $24.99 a pair. White steelies and Mud Thrashers.
