| Extended Drive Shaft 6"+?
Ok well I have a custom 3 link in the rear of my CC-01 Pajero. I ended up coupling 2 female plastic Axial shafts between a male Axial shaft for the moment. However the most I can pull out is 10.5" wheelbase I need 11.5" What can I do drive shaft wise? |

The wheelbase on my H3 is just shy of 11.5" Here's what I did. No slop, no weak spots from connecting driveshafts, just good, strong, smooth power transfer. Last edited by rampage; 04-02-2010 at 11:55 PM. |

| That is about the easiest way to do it. I can be as long as you need it.

Ive picked up extended drive shafts from RC4WD recently for my AX-10 that allowed me to run a 15.5 inch wheel base. You might check and see if they have a fitment for your Tamiya! |

JLF, Do you happen to have that stock number from RC4wd for that extended shaft on the AX10? The shaft on my AX10 fits on right on my CC-01 project. Thanks! |

Alex, looks like Illeagal beat me to it... His link will lead you to the RC4WD section of their site with their oversized drive shafts. The set I picked up were HEAVY and great quality! They have some massively long options too! |

Thanks for all the help guys. I might have cut the hard body then if this is the longest drive shaft I can get. I'll keep yall posted I'm building a hardbody Tundra off a highlift on a Tamiya CC-01 that I gutted out and stretched. Another question I never worked with hard ABS bodies. Do I just wet sand, primer one coat and dry over night, shoot color I want let dry over night (repeat if necessary), and hit it with clear coat? Thanks! |

No problem here's some mock ups and gutted and stretched wheel base. I am currently working on a custom drive shaft right now. Hope this gives you some ideas. Thinking of running 1.55''s but may go 1.9"s not sure yet. Locked front and rear. CVDs, alloy knuckles, repositioned rear shocks and also waterproofed servos and electronics. |

Alright I got this massive shaft assembled...it can stretch out to 8" if need be. lol it looks like a frankenstein creation. The underside is also 4 linked with some Axial tubes I had laying around. I just finished sanding and primer of the cab head. Will shoot the color tomorrow and primer the bed and tailgates. Sorry my other laptop died no pics yet. |

How did you make the drive shaft ? Im in desperate need of an 8'' drive shaft myself . The RC4WD shafts are a little more money than I was wanting to spend so I need some ideas . | |
