i hate these threads

Really I do, but I just have to ask
I want a cc01 fj, my buddy (mr.ed) thinks its foolish and a waste of money....

But I want one.

So, on to the question.
If I'm going to do one, I want to solid axle/ four link the front.
How hard is it to do.

I don't want a dedicated crawler, or scaler... I have those already. I want a street/mild trail rig. Something that can keep up on the trails well enough, but isn't hardcore.

Will the cc01 fit the bill...?
Can a front solid axle be done...?
Just how capable is it really....?

Let's hear what you think

Whats wrong with asking questions? Anyways it's not that hard all you need to do is hack off the IFS and use your own axle up front. You could even get a donar CC-01 and use the rear axle up front so they match. You would also have to use a different transmission with two output shafts or you could use a transfer case.

If you're going to do an SAS, you might as well go with an SCX10, since you'd be pulling everything that makes the CC01 unique anyway. It'd be more work then it's worth, and cost more then the SCX10 in the long run.

Even with the IFS, the CC01 is an amazingly capable trail rig. The SAS isn't really required at all.

To me, getting rid of the IFS defeats the whole purpose of a cc01. If you want a solid axle truck that will work 100 times better get an scx10.
