| I do want a CC01, is one any better than another?
I'm an old school guy who grew up on Tamiya RC's. I'm looking to buy a CC01 and was wondering if there is any difference in the different versions of it, other than the body. Are certain versions considered better or perform better? And lastly...anybody looking to sell a cc01 roller or a cheap rtr, shoot me a PM . |

As far as I can tell, besides wheelbase, no, no real difference. It all boils down to what body you want really. I have a Pajero and have done a few of the mods to it. Removed the front Brick, up graded the steering, made a new 3 link rear suspension, slight body lift and changed to some MRC tires and rims. Also installed a winch servo. I Freakin Love It! I almost prefer to drive it over my SCX 10. If I were you, I'd shoot for a new one and go from there. Just my opinion, but you can understand it better and know how to take it apart, what is in it, and the like. Though, a used one may have all the upgrades and broken in. I see you are in Raleigh, not too far from ya, maybe I can let you take a look at mine when you get yours and decide what direction you want to go. |

Like above they are all the same except different shells and wheelbase (with the only exception being the street version Isuzu MU). Also as above get a new kit version so you know how it works and will help with maintenance. When you do get it the things I highly recommend to upgrade is the steering, tyres, rear links and to cut off the front brick. Cheers Jarrod |

I've been into rc's (and been a mechanic, and restored vintage motorcycles and vintage bikes) for over 20 years, and had lots of Tamiyas over the years so I really don't need to build it to understand how it goes together and works. I understand you guys suggesting it and I think anybody that gets into rc's should start with a kit. In the long run it would help alot of the young/new guys getting into RC's . Frankly, I was hoping to find a nice used one for as cheap or cheaper than new, that already had some of the mods done to it that everyone suggests (better tires, gpm steering kit/ 4 link, front brick removed, etc,). If I can't find "the right used one" over the next week or two, I'll buy a brand new one from Tower. With coupon, I can get the Land Cruiser for $145 or the unimog for $160 so I may just do that and mod it myself to my liking. Anyway, really enjoying reading about the cc01 and checking out all of the cc01 builds here. Keep up the good work. The suggestions and tips are appreciated. |

| yes they are, there are 2 link mount locations on the chassis, the only thing is you will need a differnt driveshaft if you get a short wheelbase version and switch to long wheelbase, I made my own using axial driveshaft parts |
