I just had to find this Thread Dean after I saw it in the MSD scale nats area since I am a huge CC01 fan with more than 20 of them built to date but I have never seen them modified to this extent and I really enjoyed seeing all the stuff you did to improve the performance Dean, great job. I have always built them because of the narrow width and stock stance for building models of street legal trucks but I never really changed them underneath I just build different bodies and make them look like real trucks but it is very cool to see they can be built to a performance level to beyond a scale street class truck

Thank you! That means alot coming from you. I have always admired your skill and attention to detail in regard to realism on all your builds. This years Wrangler is at the top of my favorites list in scale realism. Over the years I have lost patience and don't enjoy building/detailing models as much as when I was younger. Now, I just want to build stuff thats different and performs well. Not to mention drive them.

Oh, I've loved that rig since I spotted it a year or two ago. I was originally going to do one in 2.2 but never paned out. Love this little guy, and yeah, it needs the 1.9 Rockers.

Hey I'm new here and I have to say that this is the best CC-01 EVER!!! Quick question, can you bolt the portals straight up to the rear axle with those little tabs you made or do you need to change the internals to get them to work, thanks in advance

Not sure if there are any pics out there or not of it in action but there should be some footage of it in the upcoming Scale Nat's 2011 video (I hope).

Thanks! You need to make custom axle shafts for the rear axle, pretty easy to do. Just make sure you measure twice cut once!

WOW! Very nice build with the portals sir! Ive been putting in some work on an old tamiya hummer/ta02 chassis as a scaler and from the looks of the front suspension on this cc01 chassis they look almost the same! Awesome as now im thinkn of utilizing some portals on the hummer. what exactly are the front portals in this build and are they still in production? I know this is kinda an old thread so thx in advance for some input to my questions, i think ill be looking for this chassis later on, it appears the build options are unlimited (somewhat)

Oh, your the new owner huh? cool! and you live in AZ! even better! yea i had been looking for a set for my hummer build and came up short. it is dumb how certain companies, both after market and manufacturers make stuff that not stops being produced and then some things that are wanted to be produced get done away with! oh well, same as in the automotive industry, they say it keeps us on our toes....
