| thinking about getting one but a few questions?
Im really liking the scale looks of these compared to anything else. But i have a few concerns with it. 1. Can it take the 1.9 or the 2.2 tires/wheels? 2. Can only lexan bodies fit this? 3. I have an idea for a project but does anyone make the older jeeps like in WW2? thanks to all those that helps. |

I don't think anyone is running 2.2's, they just look too big like Monster Truck style. I beleive there are only a handful of 1.9's that look scale on these rigs... As for hard bodies... you could find the Tamiya Jeep on RPP or other sites... Finding a New Bright would be hard but a lot of people are running them (FJ Cruiser, H2, H3, etc...). But you could use any body you can find that's close to the wheelbase and just make custom links to fit... Best thing to do is research in this section for everyone's mods. Also, Blackfoot's cheap mods thread... he has good instructions and pics... |

I put a set of ProLine Chisel 1.9's on my Toyota Land-cruiser. They fit pretty good, as they are only a little bigger than stock tires. I mounted them on a set of Dark Soul Beadlocks. Turned out great!

Like Offacup said, you'll want to stick with 1.55 or 1.9 wheels. Tires over ~4.2" in outer diameter will rub and require some modification to get full steering. You can see a tire list here: Scale Tire Size Charts... If you are going to build a scaler, I prefer to stay <3.7" OD for a realistic look. The 1.55" Mud Thrashers are a great tire in this range. |
