Smile Toyota Tundra

This is the RC version of my real life truck. I started it some time ago, but got distracted with a lot of other builds. I made a vow to finish it before start something new.

Chassis. Extended with leaf springs and RC Channel axle.

The cc-01 ain't the greatest vehicle for interiors, but I'll give it a try

Needs a bigger tail pipe, but other than that, damn impressive start. Surprised how well the track width fits the body.

That's all I had for the exhaust Thanks. To be honest, I wish it was more narrow. I can live with it though!

Wheel/tire combo fits that truck perfectly, can't wait to see what else you have planned for it.

When these tires came out I had to get them for this build. That's what sparked my interest in it again. I only wish the wheels were 5 lug.

Thank you. It's the stock driveshaft. I cut it apart and stuck a longer piece of 3/16 rod in it. Then I brazed it back together.

Great job! Love the scale bed, rims, and detail work inside the cab to make the drive-train, and servo work well. That scale hitch is a nice touch as well!
How much work went into the leaf spring conversion? Would like to see some close-up shots of the shackles, etc.

His leaf-spring conversion has fascinated me since he first posted screenshots of this project. Lol.

I've been thinking about grabbing another CC01 chassis and trying this myself for my H3.

What's the wheelbase on this?

Thank you.

Here are some early shots of the leaf spring conversion. Basically some aluminum C-channel bolted to the cc-01 chassis.

It's 12" or something, don't know off the top of my head.

26" spinners!

The hitch receiver itself was made from sheet metal. I wrapped it around some 3/16 square(same size as hitch) and brazed the end together.

I'd like to introduce Little n00b

I made a VERY low-tech interior for him to sit in. Poor guy

RCTRUX is right.....Beautiful work!!!
You could definitely get some great scale shots in the right environment. People would be hard pressed to tell scale from 1:1

That is a beautiful tundra build. I love the accuracy of the IFS in front and leafs in the rear. You got me really wanting to build one of these too.
