Default CC01 solid front axle

as the title states.. would this even be possible? could it be done keeping the stock chassis and just cutting all the front ifs stuff out and replacing? has anyone attempted this before and if you have care to show pics? I might be buying a CC01 if i can sell my axial.. but thats the only thing i don't like about it is the IFS... any input would be awesome!

What is it that you really like about the CC01?

In order to do what you want would be to scrap most of the trans and then you need to figure out a way to drive the front and match the rear gear ratio. Then you are stuck with the Tamiya two pinion motor mount or a GRU. In the end it would be just like the AX-10 or the Tamiya CR01 except with a hacked up plastic tub chassis and limited rear four link. Buy the time you finish you may have spent more than the CR-01.

If it is just for the body then get a Tamiya body and drop it on your AX-10 or get a SCX chassis for the AX-10 running gear.

I liked the CC01 tub, so started with just that for $10, and built a TLT 1.9 scaler from it.

I have never understood hacking up a CC to that extent. Make some plastic splash guards for metal axial (or custom) frame rails and it will probably come out better and be less work.

To me the appeal of the CC01 is that it has IFS because its different. (and narrow)

CC01's are probably more scale than any other truck out there. Tamiya is the best RC company in the world. I have been dealing with them since 1987. They also have been around a heck of a lot longer than some other company's

Why would you sell any Axial to get a CC-01?? The CC-01 is legendary for IFS and solid live axle rear...not putting you down or anything but for us scaler freaks out there one of the appeals is the IFS.

If you want a narrower track how about a cut up aluminum SCX10 frame with TLT axles to fit any CC-01 body you want? Get some lower shocks or even try the CC-01 shocks or similar 90mm or less and run 1.55s.

I have a hacked up CC-01 chassis but that's just to make room for a floor plan and to also clear my 1.9s...I'm running aluminum 3 link rear with a Tamiya Tundra HL body stretched the shaft about 11".

Why would you want to do that? Anyways, use the search button. It's very friendly. Here's a link in case you still want to proceed with your project. Good luck anyways.
