Default First Truck - CC01 Unimog

Hi guys, I'm a big Tamiya fan, member at Tamiyaclub and really into on-road cars. New to RC Trucks, and this forum...

But I finally decided to get a "scale" truck and do a build. I've read most of the threads in this particular forum, so learning a lot. I chose the Unimog, have 2 spare bodies, and a Jeep Wrangler on order! Addicted right away!

Anyway... here's the build so far. Everything from the cab back is custom built styrene, except the rear bumper. Still have some stuff to do though...

Cheers,
Skottoman

They are the Tamiya Ford High Lift tires, put on so the lettering is on the inside. They are a bit softer than stock, but nowhere as soft as a crawler tire...

Looks scale to me though, I like them, but have to try them out once I'm finished. I don't expect to be doing much crawling, but more of a trail run type of MOG.

Wow awesome build!! What are you using to hold the styrene together? JB Weld? I hope it stays together out on the trail. Fantastic

The styrene is melted together with Bondene. I would say the bond is as strong as the styrene. In crucial parts I use CA also... but I also don't plan on bashing/rolling this truck. I have other bodies to paint if I want to do heavy trail/climbing use. This will be mostly trail/show running.

Cheers,

Awesome build! I like how you took a lexan body and added all the details too it. It looks as though it could be a hard body. The Bed for it was well executed as well and the antenna is a nice touch. I made one similar too it a couple of months ago.

IT's not completed yet... Still messing with it. Then it will get some MILES on it... Most likely a trail runner.

More details to do, some weathering started. (First time trying this!) Gonna be somewhat used looking hopefully when I'm done...
