what can be done to tighten up the steering?

I was thinking traxxas ball ends. not sure how to make the servo stiffer? any ideas thanks

TRX ball ends help a ton.

Aside from the GPM steering mod, remove the servo saver and use a solid arm on the steering servo. Helps quite a bit. If you don't have a solid arm, cover the servo saver spring with a zip-tie. Will keep it from flexing as much.

I went with a solid servo arm. So far my steering seems pretty good. We shall see how it lasts as I use it.

Your servo is flexing because you don't have your endpoints adjusted making your servo pull and push to far than needed.
