Default How to lock front diff?

Hey guys! I just bought a used CC01 and was wondering how to lock the front diff....

Also, the stock tires really suck as theyre hard (that's what she said) so any suggestions on an aftermarket tire that's the same size as stock? Thanks guys...

I have an FJ Cruiser body on the way and I'll be building a cc01 fj cruiser to go along with my SCX10 FJ Cruiser

1.55 dirt grabbers are like 3.1" tall. That's probably pretty close to stock tires. I run 1.9 dirt grabbers on my fjcruiser cc01. They're like 3.8". I want some 3.3" tires on 1.55t wheels.

You could lock your front diff with hot glue. Or I used to lock drifters with silly putty. But that's different. But you can get creative. Or buy a locker Haha.

You can lock the front diff by ordering another “G” parts tree and use part # G5 to lock the front diff.
If you don’t want to order another G parts tree you can take one of the small bevel gears and slide it in-between the other two and it will lock the Diff.

For tires in the picture for height comparison from left to right:
Tamiya Rock Cruiser M/T’s
RCD4WD Prowler XS 1.9 tires.
S.D.I. Trail Doctor; smaller size than the XL’s, 1.9
S.D.I. Trail Doctor LX, 1.9 tires
I am currently using the Prowlers and love them.

The prowler has a good look to it and sounds like you are happy with them.. Might just use those.

RC4WD 1.9 Rock Creepers work well. Slightly taller than stock.

Pull the diff apart and put the gears in like this . It's Free! The side of the gear that is facing you in the pic my need a slight notch for them to mesh properly so the diff will go back together.
