Default CC-01 IFS KoH Buggy

So the KoH virus infected me at last, helped by the first hybrid scale buggies being built here in Italy too, and with a few KoH-style scale competitions being held.

I wondered for months on the possibility to make a performance buggy out of a Tamiya CC-01 chassis...then I said "WTH, let's try" and bought a roller.

Plans are to chop everything off, keeping only the rear axle and the front main assembly (i.e. transmission and suspensions), bolt some skids and plates to it and weld up a tube frame that will also integrate shock mounts.

Plan is to obtain a light and stable buggy, than can be driven quite fast but still have some low speed crawling skills.

Given the quite high gearing of the stock CC-01 transmission, I'm thinking about powering it with a high turn motor (80T up) to have some torque and control, and pull the RPM's out of it with 3S LiPo's.

For tires I will stick to my beloved 1,55" IROKs.

For wheels, I plan using the Sand Scorcher rear ones. They are 1,5" and look really nice.
Had a friend try those wheels with some 1,55" Dirt Grabbers and they fit quite well

The only problem is that RC4WD tires have a thicker sidewall than Tamiya SS ones, and the two halves of the wheel do not come in contact, leaving a small gap (about 1mm). I will have to sand the inner rings a bit to solve this issue.

I'm still collecting parts while progressing with other builds. I'm also thinking about a Wraith cage to cut down
