Question Ideas on Mounting Front Bumper/Bull Bar??

Ok I'm finally nearing completion of my long build I started last year on my first hardbody I joined together to fit the CC01 chassis. Thanks to Pardonmynoob's awesome 1.55" version where I got the inspiration!

I wanted mine to be a beater rig where I don't have to worry about scratching it up which is why I went with straight auto primer (which I will never do again!). Should have used model primer instead and some wetsanding....ah well.

Now after I gutted the chassis and cut off the front brick I have no idea how to attach the front bumper or bull bar. I have no fabrication skills so aluminum brackets for mounts are out of the question.

Last night I tried Shoe Goo but the bumper broke right off with a little bending from my hand...

Any other ideas?

I started a little styrene up front as a base plate which I plan to add more layers to and eventually fab up an aluminum skid from a very thin sheet.

You could do something like this...I used aluminum but you could try using kydex.

Awesome I remember going through your build thread a while ago. Looks like one hell of a performer for a CC01. I was wondering how I would fab a skid out of delrin or kydex should have thought CARDBOARD! Lol...yes always learning...where can I source our delrin or kydex sheets in thick for a skid?

I found this on Amazon. Carboard works great for creating a template.

Amazon.com: Kydex-T Sheet - .060" / 1/16" Thick, Calcutta Black, 12" x 12" - Pick: Color, Thickness, Size: Home & Kitchen

Thanks for that...what thickness should I get if I'm just using a dremel with a cut off wheel?

I would use a hobby xato saw, coping saw and or a hack saw with a really fine blade.

You could use the dremel but you would need to keep the speed down or risk melting the kydex.
