Default Thinking of buying CC01. Questions regarding batteries, body, upgrades...

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting into scale crawling.

My plan is to get Tamiya CC01 with either Toyota FJ40 body or get Land Rover Defender 90 body for it.

here are my questions:
-What kind of batteries would you recommend, I would like to use lipo.
-Any necessary updates that I need to buy while buying CC01
-What is the name of the company that produces Defender 90 bodies...what kind of modifications are needed to fit CC01 this D90 body.

Thanks in advance.

Any old LiPo will do. Hardcase might be a good idea. If you're looking for the pinnacle of affordability, the Gens Ace packs from Hobbypartz.com are worth looking at.

Bearings! I bought a complete bearing set off eBay for around $10. Very worthwhile. The GPM steering upgrade is a good idea as well. Google GPM Racing, and you'll find it.

RC4WD.com. They're pricey, but very nice.

Also get some better tires as the stock ones are way too hard.

A lot of Lipos are rectangular in shape. Look for one that has a traditional oval hard case so it might fit in the battery compartment!
