I have to borrow this topic..

So, i have problems with motor overheating in my Pajero. I use 45T Lathe motor and after about 15-20 minutes of driving, it gets so hot that i have to cool it down for about 15 minutes.
Ive been thinking of getting a GRU, but what ratio?

If i want my speed to stay the same as it is now with 45T Lathe, i should probably get 20T-35T motor but which GRU? 4:1? 2:1??

It shouldn't get that hot unless something is binding, or your tyres are huge, or you're going flat out everywhere.

You are using the 16t pinion aren't you? How is the timing on your motor?

You could try a fan assisted heat sink, I run one on my TB01 rally cars as they cook motors easily. Or go for a higher turn motor, my CC01 runs an LRP Truck Puller (80t) and it barely gets warm and goes at a quick walking pace.
