Default Heli Batteries

Heya, my brother gave me a couple of helicopters to tear apart. They both ran on 2s lipos. One is an 1100mah pack that looks like a couple of AA batteries stuck together and the other is an 850mah in the more traditional flat format.

Do you think the 1100mah might be capable of running the CC01 at all? It's somewhere between 15c and 20c for discharge rate. I know it would make for relatively short runs, but that's what I tend to do anyway.

Maybe they'd just be better as receiver/servo packs? (through my BEC, of course.)

Jim

I ran my 'Jero on a 1300 3s, I would get over an hour of play time from each pack.

I think the 1100mah pack might be Li-Ion, given that they're round, metal jacketed cells. I've seen some similar ones marked as LiPo, but I'm going to be cautious. I'll just use it to power my Rx and servo.

So, here's the million dollar question: How long could a servo run off of an 1100mah pack? I'm thinking quite a long while, even if it's a higher torque model. Any thoughts?

I run two of my 1.9 scalers on heli batts.
900mah 2s. But they are rated at 10-15c, so I actually run two of these in parallel.
1800mah, 2s2p, 20-30c
It allows for some tight batt compartments when needed.

Be careful what the C rating is on the batts you have.
On a CC with small tires, a 10-15c might be OK. You'll know it's not when it is HOT and puffing. LOL

Actually sweli the C rating wouldn't change so it would be 1800mah, 2s2p, 10-15C. The amp rating doubles in proportion to the increased capacity, but the overall rating is still only 10-15C.

I'll be trying them out for running my electronics and using a slightly larger battery for the ESC and motor.
