Welcome! I LOVE my cc01 - I got the exact same kit recently. It was enjoyable to build in all aspects (axial could learn a thing or two from tamiya in the build manual IMO ). Still building bits and pieces, here is a coupke pics of mine from behind my house |

Just ordered the bearings, thanks again Derb for the sizes!!!!! Still debating on piecing together a hex head screw kit, seems like a lot of work and money. But I really hate phillips screws! |

I'd check out McMaster-Carr for the hardware, but remember that every upgrade has different hardware.. Pins and c-clips for a-arms and numerous machine screws for steering kits and four links.. Which most will be Philips.

I've been building & running Tamiya's since the 80's and have never owned a CC-01 based kit.....this is making me want to get one.

I've had so many Tamiya's over the years, weird that this is my first NEW Tamiya ever. Looking back I've owned 9 of them, just looking at the parts bags I don't think I'll be disappointed! |

So I got my kit a few weeks ago, I've spent the time picking up some odd's and ends I wanted to utilize during the build. I started by picking up a bearing kit from Avid, and some green GPM parts I used some marine grease I picked up at a local West Marine to get everything rotating smoothly. I'm not used to such thick grease, it was almost comical while building up the gear box cause I thought I was doing something wrong. Thats all I have thus far. I'm still debating on using the stock power system for upgrading so I'm kind of at a stand still, also my Junfac order hasn't gotten here yet and it's been 3 weeks so I'm not moving on until I get that. |
