Default Mitsubishi Pajero Xtreme Trial

This is my second build ghread here, and I would like to share this build with you! Hope you like it!

Like my LR3 Xtreme Trial (Project Xtreme Trial LR3 (CC01 chassis) - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums), this one will also be a capable rig, or at least Iīll try that!

Welcome to the Mitsubishi Pajero Xtreme Trial build! The second off-roader of the:

I wont be boring you with the chassis build because I already did a step by step build of the CC01 in my Jeep YJ thread (Jeep Wrangler YJ - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums).

I donīt have any 1:1 reference pics because I didnīt find any pics of the look Iīm after, but, expect a lot of cutting, glueing and sanding. And also a lot of frustration!

Some ideas are trying to build a simple interiro, remove the back door and place a spare tire inside, bigger tires, etc.

Now, enough with the words and lets get to the photos.

Oh, before that, I bought this kit in Germany, in a shop called Modellbau-Seidel (Modellbau-Seidel - Startseite). This was the best price for the kit that I found in Europe, and the service is very good too. Very pleased with the purchase!

Pics!

The package.

The familiar box.

Will be using a 35T motor with the HPI gru.

Locked front this. Later had to remove the hot glue and lock it with the remainig spider gears.

Progress on the chassis build.

Blue knuckles. Interesting, because the ones in the Jeep kit are black. I already have here a set of aluminium knuckles to replace this ones.

Finished axle.

Continuing with chassis progress...

Cool! Bricks for tires!

Rolling chassis.

The body.

The body... On.

Mandatory flex shot. Flex?!

What is marked in black is coming off.

Looks great so far! I was a little worried when I saw what you were planning to remove there but now I see what you are trying to achieve. This sis going to be pretty cool when you are done.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Now this is one of those details where you can see that my skills to make simetrical parts is none... Look at the pictures!

Work on the front. Not finished.

Back to the rear i noticed that the body wasnīt lined up how it should be, so had to make adjustments and improvise... Not my favorite solution but the spare tire will cover that...

Took out the Dremel and cut some chassis!!

Motor cover in fiber glass. Home made!

I was going to use the HPI gru but there was no space for the battery so now I wil stick with the 55T motor. Hope it's slow enough for me.

CAD to the rescue!

Close fit with the body!

Iīm delaying the inevitable: the interior, in particular, the seats...

Impressive work mate, any GRU will push the motor back, not just the HPI one. Interesting placement of the steering servo too, I guess it gets it out of the way of the 'foot well' of the cabin though.

Thanks! Yes, I know that any GRU will push the motor back! Unfortunately I can not use a GRU due to the battery space. Let's see if the motor is suitable for what I want!

The placement of the servo was necessary due to the cuts on the chassis and to make room for the interior.

You obviously speak Spanish, probably as your native language, from your notes to yourself, so I just wanted to say your English is fantastic. Perfect really.

That, and I'm really impressed with your building skills. Subbed

You almost got a WIN there, but you missed! ! Thatīs not spanish, itīs portuguese, from Portugal, the country on the left side of Spain, Europe's most western country! Thank you about the compliments about my english. I believe I speak english well enough, and Google translator helps in the writing!

And thank you about the compliments about the build!

Ahh. I saw frente and Assumed Spanish haha. I lived in Argentina from 2007 to 2009 so i know how hard it is to maintain fluency in two languages. Keep up the good work

This is looking great, my kit just stoves at the house. You build has pretty much shown me how to do what I was thinking if doing. I ordered some .80 for the ingredient, I'm hoping its not too thick. I just wanted to make sure that it was durable. Can't wait to get started on mine. I'll probly use wraith seats in mine and make a partial role cage for the inside rear.

sent using taptalk 2 - This is not the Droid you are looking for.

Thank you! You are talking about the servo mount right? This servo mount is an "experiment". It is very thin and I hope it doesn't bend under stress. If that doesn't happen, it is permanent!
