i went to my dads shop and cut it with a plasma cutter.... then kinda smoothed it with a bench grinder and a hand grinder with a cut-off wheel, but to bend it i just put it in a vice and beat on it with a hammer. its made out of 14ga steel so i shouldnt have too much dent problem lol i just need to get some body filler or something like that to smooth it out and then paint it, but that's after i figure out how im going to do the tube-work... Tamiya green or white body filler works great.

| Re: AX's CC-01 i have some extra of that fiberglass repair kit stuff from a project on my 1:1.... im thinking of using that just cause i have it.. but i still have tube work to do, so the filler and paint will have to wait until that is done...and who knows when ill get a chance to do that... |

Nice layout. Have you driven it since the change?

Unfortunately no, there's like 4 feet of snow up here in SSM, MI. But it feels really nice on some minor stuff inside. |

Forgot to mention. I recently got a Turnigy 2650mah lipo for this truck. That was the reason for the new battery layout Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |

Got to do some driving today, for the 3rd time.... i know i'm slacking... And with driving it comes the wanted upgrades.... so here's my thoughts on this particular rig so far. Im in the steering boat.... the stock set-up is J.U.N.K. it works... kinda Bearings.... something tells me that makes a huge difference in how this rig performs. Something to cool the motor.... im going to be reading up on that as soon as im done with this post. It got Too hot for my liking. Tires.... this is still on of those in-the-air-things....because it was wet outside today but i dont think these tires are going to perform how i want them to. Wider offset wheels..... not much but i'd like a bit more stability.... would Axial beadlocks be wider than these tamiya wheels? so i'm going to be on the lookout for those things here shortly. Anyways, i got a couple pics; Last edited by scorpion ax-10; 05-02-2014 at 08:14 PM. |

From my measurements the axial headlock has 5mm of backspacing, vs the 7 mm of the tamiya. Plus the hex's are deeper on the tamiya hex. My guess is you will get about 4-5 mm extra width per side. Out of tires I have driven on the flatirons did pretty good in wet conditions. The pit bulls I hear work really good but they might be to big. Personal favorite is prolines Tsl's, small ones are 4.3" vs the flatirons 4.2". The g8 compound is hard to beat IMO. For temps, look into a 2:1 gru, or some other mods to get your gearing lower. I read somewhere it is possible to run a 12t pinion. Steering... Um yeah that has been discussed before.

Thank you I'll look into those rims/tires, i think the TSL's would look great on here, and so will the axial beadlocks. How hard is it to mount thew GRU's? ive read some about em but haven't really gotten much out of em. and yea ive seen the MANY steering threads, i was just hoping the stock would be enough for me.... and i was wrong, lol. |

Got bored again today, on dry rocks the Flat Irons did really well... i'm suprised, still would like to try the TSL's though. steering is definitely at the top of the to-do list And now so are CVD's.... (pics will show that)!! EDIT: CVD's, Steering, and Bearings on the way Pics; one that i thought looked cool, other is breakage shortly after the cool one. For now i think im going to try and straighten it just to keep driving, but it will be replaced soon. Last edited by scorpion ax-10; 05-17-2014 at 08:58 PM. |

Got my CVD's, Steering, and Bearings in! Let me say now that i understand completely why everyone recommends at least the steering, what a WORLD of difference, and so were the CVD's. this is like a whole new truck. |
