| RC4WD 1.55s
Anybody using them? There are definitely more tire choices for the 1.9s, but the 1.55s look perfect for a scale CC01 build. I am using high lift wheels and tamiya rock cruisers, love the look of the rock cruisers, but the compound sucks. With my suspension mods, I have room for a slightly larger tire and would like to take advantage of that. Spec wise, the 1.55 mud thrasher is the same size as the tamiya MT. That is making me lean towards the 1.9 mud thrashers. Love the look of the 1.9 mud country, but the tread pattern looks too tight for any playing in the mud. Ugh, decisions decisions. Would love to see any pics you guys have of any of these tire setups, and any advice is more than welcome!

Thanks, that's helpful! I think I'm going to go that route, and the stamped steel rims. I think I would rather sacrifice a bit of performance for a realistic look.

Wow! Thanks for the great pics! Killswitch, those Rock Stompers look HUGE! Love the wheels. The landies on monkeyracing's look awesome. Not sure that wheel and tire will look as good on my chevy, but it's absolutely perfect with that land cruiser! The combo on that jeep look exactly like what I'm looking for. Guess all I needed to do was look closer at the TF2. Those are 1.55 mud thrashers, correct? Do they grip ok on wet stuff? Mud?

1.5 CC01's are all over the place. Very common set-up due to the smaller size of the bodies. Running the same TF take-offs as above. 100% performance improvement. Need not worry about losing anything other than a little ride height (and not much at that) they work very well. Not sure which Chevy body you are referring to, but here's a reference pic as well. |

I have an old and discontinued Parma 1:10 Chevy Trailblazer body on my CC01. I bought it years ago, and this rig has been collecting dust in the basement for a long time. I recently started resurrecting it. New trans gears, GPM steering, and yeah racing CVD's on the way from Hong Kong. Since the TB body is pretty unique (haven't seen another CC01 with one), I decided to stick with it and try to do some detailing to make it look a bit more realistic. I want to build some custom front and rear bumpers that will be chassis mounted, roof rack, and some major paint touch-up. Last edited by 83GT; 10-28-2013 at 08:44 AM. |

Not at all, the pitbulls look sweet. I reckon its all about where you want to go with the truck. I'm trying to stay pretty scale on this one. I want to do another soon and go a little more wild with it. Maybe cr01 or scx10.... Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk |

That's the only reason I haven't. The rock stompers are already close to the edge of "scale." They really look like a 33-35" on a tracker.

I'd say more like 40's, lol. I bet you don't have much problem keeping up with the 2.2" guys though! That little rig looks fun! On that note, I have a 1:1 tracker I picked up a couple months ago. Gonna hack it and build a bed for it. I plan to use it like a side by side at a piece of property we own up in VA. Firewood getter and such. Might do a slight lift just to fit some slightly larger tires under it. Nothing too drastic. The biggest work is going to be cutting the back half of the body off and building the bed.

I just bought a new RC4WD Trail Finder 2 and it came with the 1.55's and Mud Thrashers, and I had a set of 1.9's for the TF2, so last night I decided to put the 1.55's on my CC-01 Bronco. It looks really scale and I have to say, the tires work great. They really look like the early BFG Mud Terrains from the late 70's. Now it makes me wish I had spent more time on the body.

Ya'll using foams in these? I have them mounted with the stock foams and they are a bit too stiff. The CC01 is pretty light, so I'm thinking softer foam or no foams?

My stock foams are a bit stiff on my initial test runs, but I'm also not finished adding weight to the chassis either. I'm still going to be adding a cage and interior. I'll give them a few runs to break in, but if I don't see much improvement, I'm going to go with CI dual stage foams. I run them in everything else but I haven't gotten around to picking up a set for my CC01.
