Well, the unrelenting search has ended. Many, many months of scouring flea bay and RCC, I finally found a Fast Lane Jeep Liberty body. This is the good looking one thats correctly proportioned to the real thing and has a very workable 10" or so WB. While most cage these bodies and put them on Axial axles, I'm going the opposite route and going super scale. The real ones have IFS so whats a better platform than a CC01. I'll be modeling it off my 1:1 KJ

Rough build list
New CC01 kit (if i cant find a used roller)
1.55 MTZs on RC4WD steel wheels
RC4WD OME shocks for the rear
Cheap TowerPro servo and Sidewinder ESC/55T
Re worked rear suspension
Some aluminum bits as needed.

I like the 1.1. My buddy had a nicely built KK and he wheeled it pretty good with us. He traded it in for a JK but those Libertys are nice. My dad has a stock diesel!!!

Its just the stock Fastlane chassis that the body came on.

Had this waiting for me yesterday. Was gonna wait till today to build but i ended up stayin up to build it
Picked a set of Avid rubber coated bearings and a used Axial ESC and Castle BEC.


Got the chassis all finished up this morning and mocked up the body

KJ body off


and poof. Just sitting on there. I will need to cut off the old mounting points in the body so I can get the front down and possibly trim a bit off the cube so the front gets lined up in the fenders.


Overall I cant complain how well the CC01 chassis works with this body. Dont have to hack the tub at all



Still need to order the 1.55 wheels and tires, but Id say its a pretty good start.

Been a while since I last worked on the Libby, but I got it out in the last couple days and made a bit of progress.

Tires I'm using are 1.55 Rc4WD MTZ which should give it a nice aggressive look


Wheels are 1.55 Rc4wd aluminum internal beadlocks with 5 lugs, rather than 6 found on all the other steel wheels. 6 lugs would have definitely thrown off the look.
My order from Locked UP came today, so i got the wheels and tires mounted with their scale lug nuts. They look far better than regular screws...Thanks Locked Up


Im gonna find a solution to hide the 4mm wheel nuts if possible. 1:1 Liberty's don't have hubs that stick out, so it might be a little tough

Um, yea the stock CC01 motor has some go


Extended the wheelbase just slightly with all thread and revo ends, and used the Axial 3 link brackets to bolt my shock brackets too. It should hold up fine considering I'll just be driving around on flat ground with this.



All you need to do is drill completely through the top post and the existing m3 bolt will snugly thread into the link bracket. It might rotate side to side a bit, but once you get that lower link bolt tight and get your upper link and shocks bolted in, it'll wont move. If your hard on your rig, perhaps creating another tie in point to the axle with the 3 link bracket would beef it up.

Next to do is paint and and add my old school DW Fab roof rack thats the perfect size on the stock roof rails.
