Default New CC-01 FJ Cruiser

Just saw this on the TamiyaUSA Facebook page, it looks amazing. Not sure if hardbody or polycarb but the detail looks pretty good. Also looks like new wheels in the 1st pic.

I would have to disagree the red one is easier to tell the windows and the body seem to be different plastic as even the reflections show the windows seem to be the same texture as the standard windows for tamiya kits but if its lexan omg

Wheels and tires look like the original stock hi-lift setup. I think the body looks lexan, but it's awfully hard to tell from those pics. Either way, it looks really nice!

I own a 1:1 FJ and I've been hoping that someone would make an FJ RC.... I'm not sure about the CC01 chassis, thought.. is it the real deal? Would it be better to put the body on an SCX-10?

You can get a CC-01 chassis to work pretty damn good but it takes a lot of mods just to get it close to a stock SCX10, I enjoyed modding the two I had, it's a challenge but rewarding in the end. These make really good class 1 rigs.

The black wheels look like the ones off the Tundra Hi-lift, but the silver ones look like new ones, to me at least. I know Tamiya has 5 spoke silver wheels, but the spokes are wider than on the ones pictured here. Also, I've been told the body is lexan.

Maybe? To me they look identical to the wheels and tires I ran on my CC01 for years, pictured here:

I can't remember what kit the wheels were from. Definitely Tamiya though.... The tires are F350 hi-lift.

As a 1:1 FJ owner I'm over the moon about this release. Although I also recognize the scx10 platform being much more capable on the trail than the cc01, I do like the scale IFS of the tamiya. I'd love if someone made a IFS conversion for the SCx10

I've never noticed those ones before, but these are the ones I mean:

Yeah, those are the Pajero wheels. I probably bought the wheels that were on my CC01 5 or 6 years ago. I honestly can't remember what they where from. I did buy them as a combo with the rock cruiser tires though. I will try to dig back and see if I can figure it out!

I think The SCX10 would not be true to the IFS set up of the FJ as was mentioned.

Also, I think you liked one of my photos of my CR01 on Instagram the other day unless there is someone else with the name RichLPhotography on there

Nope.. It was me.

I understand that the cco1 is IFS, but the chassis seems to have more problems for crawling/off-road... It hangs up more. It also has few parts, less flexibility to make it unique. If this comes out, in think it will sell very well. There are lots of Guys on my FJ board that are already saying they want it.

The wheels on the blue one are indeed the old 2 piece wheels, on Hilift tires. (Red one has Tundra wheels/BFG's on it) Curious to see what the kit comes with out of the box. Looks awesome though, Lexan or not, Tamiya nailed it.

Looks like a new wheel/tire set coming as well. The 2 piece wheels are the ones on the blue rig, the tires are new as far as I know.

Hopefully they aren't bricks but Tamiya makes the tires for longevity on multiple surfaces so you know how that goes

I guess this means we wont have to pay crazy monies for the hard body FJ's on ebay now.

The body is definitely lexan but has some nice hard plastic add on parts. Very cool. I have 5 new Nikko bodies. I better dump them now before they are worth nothing LOL. Kidding, I'd rather have a hardy body over lexan anyway. But I'm glad Tamiya did this. I wonder if it is the long (xc) wheelbase set up like the VW touareg. Anyone know?
