I just aquired a Montero that was made from two Pajeros. You may have seen it but I stumbled on this site. They have some cool parts for the pajero/montero and in general. One or two emails and I have a ARB style front bumper coming from them.

I've seen that site before, lots of awesome stuff on it. How much did that bumper set you back?

Alright I have one more question and then I will leave you alone. Did you end up doing a body lift on your vehicle? I got the same vehicle with the same wheel and tires and I just need to know if I need to lift it or not. And if you did lift it how did you end up doing the lift on the body? I have seen a few different pajero's with body lifts but none seem to fit right in the end they all seem to set way too high.

Haha, you're not bugging me at all.

It has a bit of a lift on it. The front is the easiest since all you do is flip the front mount over 180*, and in the rear there's about a 4.5 mm spacer between the shock mounts and chassis. The fender openings are also clearenced for the tires.

Trim the inner or body fenders? Pics might help but not a necessary. Our rigs look alot alike. I didn't paint it. Got it off this forum. Waiting on my wheels and tires to be delivered.

I trimmed the fender flares on the body. Basically, cut amounts out of the front and back lower portions so the tires didn't hit, then I sanded them enough to flow into the flares that are left, so it looks like they were never touched. Also, the rear lift I mentioned is the old way I did it, the way it is now is with the 4 link mounts. I put the shocks one hole higher so it raised it the same amount as the spacers did.

Edit: found a side pic of a Pajero. What I highlighted in green by the fenders is roughly what I trimmed away. I didn't really have a plan for how much I needed, or wanted, just had my dremel and sanding drum, and took a bit away each time until it was how I wanted it. I also notched the bottom of the front bumper by the bumps. You'll know what I mean when you install the new tires, it's where they contact it.

So I cut most of the brick off the front, filled up the open spots with styrene sheet, Tenax 7R and a shitload of Shoo Goo

Also, has anybody else have an issue where the screws holding the rear diff case come out? Two of them came out on mine and got lunched by the diff gear, which stopped it from turning. I replaced the two screws and everything seems fine, but I guess we'll see...

I'm about to build mine and I'm wondering if the GPM rear suspension 4 links needs the rear damper mount to be installed?

Beside the bearings kit and the steering assembly is there any others upgrades should I consider?

Not sure what you mean by the first question, I only have the rear shock mounts installed, the two new lower links were made by me.

I would do those two upgrades first, then see what it's like and upgrade whatever you feel should be done next. If you're going to do any serious crawling, you'll need a GRU as the stock gearing is too tall. I would also trim the C's for more steering throw. CVD Axles would be a good upgrade, but I'll just run dogbones until I bend, or break, one.

What I was trying to ask is do I need the part #CC030 (rear damper mount) to install the #CC161 rear links?

Does the #CC161 rear links can be fix directly to the rear axle?

I would assume so since the stock plastic links have the shock mounts on them, I haven't used the links you're referring to, I had some lying that I made.

So, almost 3 years later seems like a good time for an update eh? I went to the beach again today, it's one of my favourite spots, just relaxing there. Tires are now RC4WD Dick Cepek Fun Countrys, still 1.55".

I'm thinking of maybe repainting the ol' girl, not sure what colours though, would have to look at the factory ones that were available at the time.
