Ride height and flex

Hi guys,

What are the best mods to increase ride height and flex on the CC01 chassis.

I don't want to chop up the chassis too much and would prefer buying parts to fit but any help is welcome.

I find the stock ride height can't really do much in terms of crawling at the moment.

Thanks

Bigger tires! Problem is you loose your gearing solved by a gru. You may have to hack the chassis for anything much bigger than 4".

What exactly does a gear reduction unit do?

I'll definitely get some bigger tyres and I want to change the wheels as I'm not too keen on the stock ones.

What about suspension? What shocks are recommended?

Just changing the shocks to something longer (70-80mm) will only add very little more ride height.
You'll have to mod the C-Hubs, and front arms to get more travel. Also, get the Junfac or GPM link set for the rear, as the standard links are way too flexible.
Look at some of the builds here, there are plenty of different ways getting more flex.

OK that's great I'll be looking into the links and hubs.

Will this also help the clearance I seem to get stuck on the smallest things.

It also helps to remove the "brick", that big useless piece of plastic at the front of the chassis

Yeah I've seen that removed on various cars but I'm a little worried about hacking up the chassis as its my first build.

go for it, it's probably the cheapest and best mod for a CC

I've made a few modifications over the weekend, I decided to shave off the two small blocks on the c-cups for more steering and shaved off another small piece of plastic for some extra clearance.

Only problem now is with the steering, the dogbones aren't long enough and on full lock they start clicking quite loud and are ready to fall out if throttle is pressed.

I ordered some universal CVD's so hopefully this will sold the steering issue.
