Default Stock Shocks

Hi,

New here and new to CC01 got it last week.

I find the suspension to stiff, the truck bounces a bit.

Can anything be done to the stock setup or should I be looking at new shocks.

Im looking at new tires and wheels as well, like the Junfac ones.

Want to smooth out he ride and make is look more scaled realistic looking when driving at slow speeds, worked out I should have locked the diff when building but I have a bearing set on order, once I put them in I shall lock the rear diff.

Cheers

Stock shocks can work well. I filled mine with some 55wt silicone and they worked flawlessly. Travel is a little limited, but if you're going for scale, they're perfect.

Not knowing much about oil, I would assume this is thinner than the Tamiya stock supplied oil and I should see a softer ride.

Was wondering what the springs play in this it seems two different type are used in the kit front and back, again to me they seem to stiff.

Yes Im trying to get scaled look

Or do what I did...

Use Axial SCX10 shocks. It requires drilling through the tub chassis, but it's worth it...

I get major flex

Usually stock shock oil is in the 25-35wt range, lighter than the suggested 55wt oil. Does your truck have oil or friction dampeners? I am assuming oil based on your earlier comment. If there is any binding in the shock it will give a very firm ride. My stock shocks/springs were way to soft for my setup. I am currently running shocks from AsiaTees 70mm aluminum bodied for about $13 a pair. I like them they even have threaded bodies for adjustable preload.
