| CC01 Steering Opportunity
I've tried every type of steering kit. As I read the comments none of the manufactured kits do the trick and I agree. I have seen some mods on here that are a two rod assembly with a aluminum centered servo set up between the front fenders of the body. I have no metal bending, sawing equipment. I contacted Level-3 parts and asked them to look into manufacturing such a unit. I have not heard back. If anyone had the time and equipment I would bet there would be a great demand for them. If not, I would be happy to pay for someone to bend and cut up one for me. I think there is a market for this item.

If you can give me some drawings with dimensions i can help you with that. I have sheet metal benders, cutters and a turret punch. Send me the drawings and I'll make them for you, just pay for the shipping |

It amazes me as long as the CC01 has been on the market and the popularity of it that no one is producing decent aftermarket steering yet. Decent anything for that matter. The HR gear cover is the only thing I've bought that fit good and didn't need modifying to work properly.

You don't really need anything more than a hacksaw. A Dremel might be better, but it can be done.. You're going to need to hack up the front of the chassis anyway, right? I suppose you'll need to drill a hole or two as well. I don't mean to sound like a smartass, but this is basic For some context I'm half blind (for real) and my hands are partially paralyzed. You can do this! |

I saw those and would be interested in knowing how they work. I just put in a Yeah Racing but with an added touch. I put a very few small dabs of JB Weld on the base and a long screw with JB up the shaft and it seems to be more solid and strong. Time will tell. I can't see $75.00 if the part is a bust. I like these machines and if the weak link can be fixed, it would be a great machine.

Yep, I'd be interested in how the Square kit works too. Oh, I got my GPM kit working OK by filing new flats on the end of the rod that goes through the chassis. Last edited by SlimJim16v; 04-09-2015 at 05:13 PM. |

all you have to do is buy the gpm kit, and find someone to make you a replacement shaft( it needs to be about 2.5-3mm longer on both ends) i would do it....but from what i've learned from this hobby is that its diy...no help..no answers nothing....oh yeah and make sure you get longer screws
